Dr. Alexandra Lianou

Dr. Alexandra Lianou is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Applied Microbiology in the Department of Biology of the University of Patras (Patras, Greece). She holds a B.Sc. degree in Agricultural Biotechnology (Agricultural University of Athens, Greece), a M.Sc. degree in Animal Sciences (Colorado State University, USA) and a Ph.D. degree in Food Microbiology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). Her research interests are related to the microbiological safety and quality of foods, Quantitative Microbiology, microbial interactions and stress responses, natural antimicrobial systems, biofilms and biotechnological applications of microbiology in the food industry and the environment. During her research activity, 44 articles have been published in peer-reviewed international journals [h-index: 19, citations (without self-citations): 1285]. In addition, she has been author/co-author in seven international publishers' book chapters.

John G. Keogh - Founder

John G. Keogh has 30 years of hands-on experience in executive leadership roles in supply chain management, IT, and management consulting. Known for his practical, evidence-based insights, John provides strategic advisory and research to government bodies, NGO's, businesses, and technology firms globally. He's also a frequent keynote speaker and media analyst. John is the founder of Shantalla Insight Partners LLC,., a niche advisory and research firm based in Toronto and Los Angeles. John is also a Professor of Practice at the McGill Center for the Convergence of Health and Economics (MCCHE) and serves on the board of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST). His current research focuses on the digital transformation of agri-food supply chains, with an emphasis on traceability, recall, transparency, trust, and opportunism.

Prof. Marc Heyndrickx

Marc Heyndrickx graduated as a PhD in Microbiology from the Ghent University in Belgium in 1991. After a post-doc at the same university, he joined the Flanders Research Institute of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (abbreviated as ILVO) in Belgium in 1997 as a senior researcher. From 2001 onwards, he became scientific director at the Technology & Food Science Unit of ILVO. In this function he is responsible for the research group on chemical and microbiological food safety. His current research focus is on antimicrobial resistance dissemination in a One Health context, and detection and remediation of foodborne pathogens like Campylobacter, Listeria and Salmonella in a farm to fork approach. In this work, the applicability of biosensors is evaluated in collaboration with other partners. He is also visiting professor at the Veterinary Faculty of Ghent University.
