Dale Shorey

Dale has been consulting on front office hires for over 18 years. Before the 2007 financial collapse Dale mostly consulted for investment banks on senior hires in fixed income, leveraged finance and securitisation. Whilst still supporting investment banking clients, Dale utilised his expertise to assist buy-side firms on hires created from the dislocation in credit markets. This experience includes a successful track-record across structured products, structured finance, real estate debt, NPL's, direct lending, CLO's and distressed debt. Recently Dale has advised many leading hedge funds and private equity houses on senior investment hires in European private debt. His track record spans origination, structuring, credit analysis, credit risk, trading & portfolio management across performing and distressed credit. This bandwidth allows Dale to offer a full view of the entire buy-side leveraged credit investor market across different asset classes, providing a unique and invaluable perspective to fund managers making strategic human capital decisions.

Eli Ainapore

Job Titles:

Eli joined Waterman Stern in the role of an Associate Headhunter. Eli takes a leading role in running junior to mid-level Distressed, Special Sits and Real Estate hires alongside his involvement in core credit search mandates across Direct Lending and CLOs. Eli's scientific background ties well with his research efforts for Waterman Stern. Eli spends his time performing in-depth analysis for our research offering, tracking candidate profiles, candidate screening, managing transaction execution and general candidate resourcing for specific mandates. Eli holds a Biomedical Science degree from the University of Reading, his dissertation focused on a meta-analysis on the potential medical benefits of cannabinoids. His time spent studying Biomedical Sciences prior to joining Waterman Stern has provided Eli with a strong analytical prowess, a sharp eye for detail and allowed him to specialise in developing independent research. Eli has always possessed a natural disposition towards sales and finance.

Owen Leighton

Job Titles:
  • Principal Headhunter
Owen joined Waterman Stern in the role of an Associate Headhunter. His experience is slanted towards Direct Lending, CLOs and Special Situations, however, Owen also covers the M&A market for junior hires. His role involves; performing in-depth research analysis, tracking individual candidate profiles, performing initial candidate screening, managing transaction execution and general candidate resourcing for specific mandates. Owen assists on the execution of senior search mandates and takes a lead role in the management of junior and mid-level hires for Waterman Stern. Owen has a natural interest in sales & financial markets. He brings even more energy and determination to an already energised and high performing team of professionals. Prior to joining Waterman Stern Owen completed his studies at the University of Kent where he read business.

Sarah Bittar

Job Titles:

Sarah has over 16 years' experience in roles involving events and sales management, leadership and training, budgeting, revenue maximisation and co-ordinating venue system operations. For the past 10 years Sarah worked for The Roof Gardens in Kensington. Virgin Limited Edition occupied The Roof Gardens as a tenant from 1981-2018. Sarah left The Roof Gardens as an Operations Executive having being recognised as a hardworking, dedicated and talented Events Manager. Sarah has been utilising all of the experience she obtained from The Roof Gardens and has applied this at Waterman Stern. Sarah's role for Waterman Stern involves managing daily operations, taking a lead role in the development of new research, co-ordinating and managing the operational requirements on search mandates, assisting in the daily management of the firm's systems, budgets, sales strategy and marketing efforts. Sarah focuses on managing operational elements of the business whilst also taking a key role in developing new relationships and managing key accounts.
