Ariel Ravid

Dr. Ravid works with children, adolescents, and their families at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Salt Lake City (EBTSL). He also specializes in working with adults with Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. He is also the Co-Director of Research and Outcomes Monitoring at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle (EBTCS). Dr. Ravid is a clinical psychologist with advanced training and specialization in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. He has considerable training in the treatment of youth with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Ravid completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley where he majored in psychology and political science. After graduation, he worked in Southern California for three years as a behavioral specialist providing behavioral services for children and adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His work at Autism Partnership with youth and their families set the stage for his pursuing graduate education aimed at helping families meet their individual goals using state of the art evidence-based techniques. Dr. Ravid received his MS and PhD in clinical psychology from Binghamton University-SUNY in New York State. It was very cold there. Clinically, he enjoyed working with children, adolescents, and families on a wide range of issues and he received considerable training and experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, academic difficulties, anxiety and related disorders, and OCD. His research focused on the core motivational features of OCD symptoms in children and adolescents. Other research interests include factors affecting the development and maintenance of anxiety and OCD, the ability for youth to identify disorders in the early stages so they can seek help as soon as possible, and strategies for helping people who do not feel they benefited from initial treatment attempts. Dr. Ravid completed his doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. It was cold in Baltimore too. While on internship Dr. Ravid received training through the Child and Family Therapy Clinic and the Behavior Management Clinic. Common themes across these trainings included helping parents, teens, and kids learn to reach their emotional and behavioral goals while decreasing family hostility and increasing positive communication. Dr. Ravid completed a postdoctoral fellowship in child and adolescent anxiety at EBTCS and worked there for 6 years before he and his family moved to Salt Lake City in 2021. It is cold here too. Dr. Ravid is a licensed psychologist in the states of Utah and Washington, and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). When not at work, Dr. Ravid enjoys running, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, and sleeping.

Danny O'Rourke

Dr. O'Rourke works with children, adolescents, and families in both the Child Anxiety Center and Eating Disorders Center. Dr. O'Rourke is a specialist in the evidence-based treatment of anxiety and related problems and is board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He is also the Assistant Director of the Child Anxiety Center at EBTCS. Dr. O'Rourke has advanced training and specialization in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders in children and adolescents, as well as considerable prior training in the treatment of anxious youth across multiple clinical settings. He also specializes in treatment for eating disorders, in particular for children and teenagers. Dr. O'Rourke completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Bath, England. He became interested in sports psychology, particularly in youth athlete performance enhancement, anxiety, and motivation. He initially decided to pursue a career in clinical psychology in order to apply clinical interventions in the sporting domain. Dr. O'Rourke received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Washington where he received extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Family-Based Therapies. Clinically, he particularly enjoyed working with adolescents and adults with anxiety and eating disorders, and with college athletes for sport psychology interventions. His research focused on the role of parents in youth athlete well-being, and his dissertation examined factors related to prolonged recovery following a concussion in athletes. Dr. O'Rourke completed his pre-doctoral internship in child clinical psychology at Seattle Children's Hospital and Harborview Medical Center through the University of Washington Medical Center. He elected to pursue focused training while on internship though Harborview Medical Center's Pediatrics Rotation and Harborview Medical Center's Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program. He was awarded the John E. Carr Award for Outstanding Achievement in Empirically-Supported Psychotherapies. Dr. O'Rourke completed a postdoctoral fellowship at EBTCS in child and adolescent anxiety disorders. Dr. O'Rourke is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington and is a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Dr. O'Rourke is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT).

Dr. Jennifer Tininenko

Dr. Tininenko works with children, adolescents, and adults in the Child Anxiety Center and the Anxiety Center. Dr. Jennifer Tininenko loves helping children, adolescents, and families achieve their personal goals. Her clients come to her with a wide range of obstacles interfering with what they want most in life and she works within an evidence-based framework, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to help them overcome those obstacles. Dr. Tininenko enjoys working with her clients in a collaborative way to approach their problems head on, regardless of the complexity. Dr. Tininenko works with a wide range of clients, from early childhood through young adulthood. She has a special interest in treating anxiety disorders, including OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, sleep disorders, body focused repetitive behaviors (i.e., trichotillomania, skin picking), as well as working with children and families with complex co-occurring problems. She often treats mood disorders, ADHD, and disruptive behavior problems, as well as adjustment to situational challenges and life stressors. She also enjoys working with individuals who have difficulties regulating strong emotions and are experiencing problems as a result of these difficulties. Parents are often an integral part of treatment and Dr. Tininenko involves them when it is beneficial for the child or teen's treatment. She also works with parents individually to teach them new behavioral approaches to managing their child's problematic behaviors and help them to gain confidence in their parenting. She also enjoys helping parents to manage their own life stress or mental health concerns. Dr. Tininenko received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Oregon, after which she completed her predoctoral internship in pediatric psychology at Seattle Children's Hospital through the University of Washington Medical Center. She then elected to pursue more focused training and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at EBTCS, with a focus on anxiety disorders and DBT. She enjoyed her work so much at EBTCS that she stayed on as Clinical Psychologist and later became the Director of the Child Anxiety Center. Dr. Tininenko is a member of the EBTCS research team and finds that participation in research has been an important component of her work as an evidence-based practitioner. She draws from her own research on the effects of stress and sleep on behavior and psychobiology, as well as the broader clinical literature, to inform her clinical work. She is active in training others in the community and enjoys giving frequent talks and supervising clinical psychology graduate students. Dr. Tininenko is a member of several professional organizations, including the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and Washington State Psychological Association (WSPA). She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington and is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT).

Dr. Kara Friend

Dr. Kara Friend is clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families in the EBTCS Child Anxiety Center. Dr. Friend's preferred pronouns are per/pers (kind of like a shortened version of person); however, per understands how challenging the use of these specific pronouns can be. When speaking to per, please use whatever pronouns you feel most comfortable using. Dr. Friend is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families. Per hopes to provide culturally responsive evidenced-based treatment to medically, psychosocially, and developmentally complex youths and families with anxiety, trauma, OCD, and related/co-occurring disorders. Dr. Friend received per PsyD in clinical psychology from Pacific University School of Graduate Psychology where per received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy with exposure and response prevention, behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and habit reversal therapy. In addition, Dr. Friend was fortunate to have the opportunity to engage in extensive training and experience related to providing care to gender diverse youths. Continuing to follow pers passion, Dr. Friend completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship within the Pediatric Anxiety Clinic at Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU), where per independently developed the OHSU, Pediatric Fear and Anxiety Clinic for Gender Diverse Youth. In addition to building a strong foundation in anxiety treatment, Dr. Friend sought opportunities to build a strong skillset in working with a variety of pediatric populations within a variety of settings. Dr. Friend believes that training in hospital and inpatient settings, community mental health settings, school-based settings, as well as in-home and community-based care settings has given per a diverse perspective and broad skill set. Dr. Friend is a member of several professional organizations, including the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP), and World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Dr. Karen Pang

Dr. Karen Pang is clinical psychologist at EBTCS in the Child Anxiety Center. She has advanced training and specialization in the treatment of anxiety and depression in children and adolescents, as well as considerable prior training in the treatment of youth across multiple clinical settings. Dr. Pang completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington (UW), where she majored in Psychology and minored in Public Health. After graduation, she spent time working as an intake coordinator at Asian Counseling and Referral Services, as a research assistant disseminating The Incredible Years parent training intervention, and as a research coordinator for a UW research lab that examined childhood resilience and risk factors for psychopathology. Dr. Pang received her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the UW where she received extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family-Based Therapies. Her research examined how culture influences the expression of depression among adolescents. Dr. Pang completed her pre-doctoral internship via the general child track through the University of California Los Angeles, Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She elected to pursue focused training while on internship though the Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program and the Child and Adolescent Mood Disorder Program. She is also a PEERS Social Skills Program certified provider. Dr. Pang completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy in the Seattle area under the cognitive behavioral therapy track. Dr. Pang is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington and is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT). Dr. Pang is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Dr. Pang is a Seattle local and an avid Huskies and Seahawks fan!
