Hannah Kuus

Hannah rejoined Lockhart Legal as a registered legal executive, bringing with her more than ten years experience in residential property law - including conveyancing and subdivisions, as well as estates and trust work. She has almost 20 years experience working in legal practices in Auckland, having first joined Lockhart Legal when it acquired the practice of Derek Cutting & Co in 2011, so she will be a familiar face to many of our older clients. Hannah gained her legal executive diploma in 2009 and is currently a Fellow member of Legal Executives New Zealand. She works flexible hours to allow for her busy home life with her 4 wonderful children and enjoys her spare time with her family and catching up with old friends.

Jordan Guo

Jordan Guo joined Lockhart Legal in January 2022 as a law clerk, and works predominantly with director, Josh Muir. Jordan studied a conjoint LLB(Hons)/Bachelor of Commerce at Auckland University and has worked as a law clerk throughout his studies. He enjoys working in commercial law and on commercial transactions and has a strong interest in tax issues. Jordan was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court in November 2022.

Josh Muir

Josh has a strong background advising clients in relation to a raft of commercial and commercial property matters including property acquisition and development, property finance, subdivisions, unit title developments, commercial leasing, business structuring, as well as more bespoke matters such as assisting supermarket owners. Josh also has a loyal private client following and provides advice in relation to all private client matters. Since commencing as a lawyer in 2010, Josh has practiced at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and McVeagh Fleming, before moving to Lockhart Legal (now Lockhart Muir). He has been a partner at Lockhart Muir for 5 years. Josh takes an open and transparent approach to practising law and his primary focus is to assist his clients in finding legal solutions efficiently, pragmatically and cost-effectively. Outside of work Josh keeps busy going to the gym, playing and watching sport, especially golf. Other than golf, his family is his main focus! Josh and his wife Bec, along with their beloved dog Maggie, live in the gorgeous seaside village of Devonport.

Lee Carter

Lee joined the firm in March 2021 as a legal adminstrator, having worked in the legal industry as a legal assistant/personal assistant for more than 30 years. Her previous roles have included working for a sole practitioner in Milford and larger firm in Albany. Lee brings extensive knowledge of conveyancing and subdivisions to the team, as well as a postive outlook and cheeky sense of humour. At Lockhart Muir, Lee also assists with trust administration and client due diligence. In her spare time she walks for exercise and does Zumba. She is the mother of twin daughters and she lives in West Auckland with her partner and the next door neighbours's cat.

Mason Lockhart

Mason founded Lockhart Muir in 2009 on his return to New Zealand, with the objective of providing outstanding legal advice and excellent client service to both SME's and private clients drawing on his experience both in private practice and as an in-house counsel. His commercial clients appreciate his pragmatic approach of advising on a wide range of matters in a wide range of industries. In particular he has a keen interest in matters relating to the sale of businesses , shares and shareholder agreements and presented to the New Zealand law Society on these agreements. He also has expertise on general commercial contracts such as distribution and supplier agreements. Mason has a large private client base and acts for them on residential conveyancing, relationship property, estate planning and family trust issues. He has expertise in advising on challenging trust and estate matters having been the court appointed executor on a number of occasions. Having trained as a mediator he is able to remain impartial, obtain a deep understanding of the issues swiftly and guide the parties to a resolution. Mason and his wife Inga have two busy daughters, Isla and Nina, and love spending time together in New Zealand's great outdoors. Mason regularly participates in masters swimming, enjoys cycling and is a great spectator sportsman.

Miriam Woods

Miriam started her career at Lockhart Muir in 2016 and was appointed an Associate in September 2022. She is an experienced general practitioner with a special interest in all-things property related, in particular property development, finance, and relationship property. At the other end of the scale, Miriam equally enjoys helping first home buyers navigate the exciting and somewhat daunting task of purchasing a home, and sees this as a great opportunity to lay the foundation for a successful long-term relationship with her clients. Miriam aims to help her clients achieve their legal goals in an efficient and pragmatic manner. She is detail-oriented and thorough in her legal work and is a highly valued member of the Lockhart Muir team. You'll also find her friendly and approachable . She lives on the North Shore and splits her time between our Epsom and Takapuna offices according to the needs of her clients. Outside of work, Miriam spends her time with her husband and her rather large family (Miriam is one of 11). On the weekend you'll catch her reading, exploring Auckland's food scene, watching live music or going to the theatre to enjoy the latest musical touring New Zealand.

Nicole McKee

Nicole is a registered legal executive with over 16 years legal experience. Nicole started in her legal career at Derek Cutting & Co and since qualifying as a legal executive she has worked in boutique property and general practice firms in the Auckland CBD. Nicole gained her legal executive qualifications in 2006 and is currently a member of Legal Executives of New Zealand. Her main experience is in residential conveyancing, together with commercial property transactions including sales and purchases, commercial leasing, subdivisions, property development projects, associated financing matters and enjoys the intensity of the transaction process. She is also happy to lend her hand to anything that comes her way. Nicole has a young family and enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends.

Sara Foley

Sara helps run the legal practice She joined Lockhart Muir, formerly Lockhart Legal in November 2016, bringing a range of business and marketing skills to the firm. Sara studied law at Otago University and has an MBA from an American University. She has a busy family and juggles running around after her teenagers with her work life.

Sinead Carter

Sinead rejoined the Firm as a Legal Administrator in October 2023. She has background in law firm administration, particularily in the finance area. Sinead also has a passion for floristry, having completed her studies and worked for a florist for 2 years.

Yolande Snetler

Yolande has been a legal executive for more than 18 years and also holds a conveyancing diploma. She has applied to become a Fellow member of The New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives Inc. Yolande's area of specialisation is in property law - including conveyancing, estates, trusts and estate planning. She says that she enjoys the opportunity to help people with their property needs, and she has been doing this in a number of law firms since she was 17. In her spare time, you'll find Yolande sorting out her farm animals, catching up with friends and travelling (when she can). She is adventurous and tries to do one thing a year that is really outside her comfort zone - like shark cage diving, bungy jumping from the highest bridge in the world, hang-gliding.
