Our vision is for children throughout the Bay Area recovering from acute brain injury to have access to array of multidisciplinary cognitive rehab options integrated with educational programs to maximize outcomes. We aim to create a system where recovery is supported after discharge and not dependent on family means. UCSF is a leader in critical care and the Pediatric Neurorecovery Clinic will expand this expertise to become a leader in brain recovery... If you'd like to share your return to school/cognitive rehab story with us so we can help serve other families, we would love to hear from you!... From the patient perspective, this absence of evidenced-based programming results in families getting lost in the system after discharge from the hospital. Each school will typically have just about one child per year hospitalized for brain injury. We have seen many families struggle with recovery, and we believe at UCSF can do more to support families and schools.
