THE EXONERATION PROJECT

The Exoneration Project is one of the best-funded, largest, and most successful innocence projects in the country. To prove our clients' innocence, we provide free forensic testing, experts, investigative services, and an experienced litigation team to get our clients home where they belong. To date, we have exonerated close to 200 clients, liberating them to live their lives and enjoy their freedom... Since it began in 2007, the Exoneration Project (EP) has provided free legal services to fight for the wrongfully convicted. At the EP we have a unique, collaborative structure: we operate as a free legal clinic at the University of Chicago Law School and often partner with other innocence organizations like the Exoneration Justice Clinic at Notre Dame Law School. We are staffed with EP attorneys, who collaborate with interns, clinic students, and other attorneys, along with our team of investigators, case manager, and dedicated paralegals and administrative support staff.
