At Nutrex we use the Functional medicine approach during client consultation. I start with matters that feed the "roots" of the client, foundational lifestyle factors such as: nutrition, medication, exercise, stress levels, sleep, relationships, and genetics. These foundational factors are analogous to the roots and soil and can be influenced by predisposing factors (antecedents), specific events (triggers), and other physiological issues (mediators), and may cause fundamental imbalances at the trunk and affecting different systems including but not limited to: digestive, immune, reproductive, cardiovascular and endocrine systems. Ultimately these may lead to a constellation of signs and symptoms for different diseases, that manifest in the stem, branches, leaves and fruits - i.e., a constellation in diseases in different parts of the body like migraine, IBS, diabetes, hypertension, depression, weight gain, etc...
