Adam Buckle

Job Titles:
  • Chief Scientific Officer
As CSO, Adam works closely with both the commercial and application science teams, helps lead Arrayjet's scientific strategy and acts as senior consultant for new customer applications, using his previous experience leading our Arrayjet Advance team. Adam has 15+ years of practical molecular biology experience and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Edinburgh.

Aimee Wilkinson

Job Titles:
  • Application Scientist
Aimee has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Edinburgh in Biomedical Science. As an application scientist with Arrayjet, she particularly enjoys working on DNA arrays because of the range of applications they make possible. Outside the lab, Aimee is a competitive cheerleader which takes her around the UK and Europe for competitions

Alan Black

Job Titles:
  • Senior Production Engineer
Alan has been building Arrayjet microarrayers and components since 2008 and has over 30 years experience in metal fabrication, instrument assembly and testing. A safe pair-of-hands! Alan has five daughters, three grandchildren, and his interests include photography, cruising the world and gardening.

Alasdair Burnett

Job Titles:
  • Mechanical Design Engineer
"Mechanic-AL" has a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a background producing high-end naval and energy equipment. At Arrayjet, he develops the mechanical aspects of the machines, always seeking to improve user-centred design and reliability. Alasdair is a very keen mountain biker and an active trail builder.

Alasdair White

Job Titles:
  • Hardware Engineer
"Electric-AL" has a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and previous experience in electromechanical devices. He now focuses on new electronic features and firmware for Arrayjet's instruments. Outside of work Alasdair develops his own motorsport electronics, and enjoys mountain biking and country walks.

Alexander Fullerton

Job Titles:
  • Application Scientist
Alex holds an MRes in Integrative Neuroscience from the Univeristy of Edinburgh. As an application scientist with Arrayjet, he has enjoyed getting to travel and support customer projects worldwide. When he's not cooking, Alex can be found taking care of his jungle of house plants.

Chris Penn

Job Titles:
  • Customer Service Engineer
Chris has spent his entire career working in the hi-tech industry. He now is part of Arrayjet's team of service engineers, travelling worldwide to keep our instruments in top printing condition.

Craig Milton

Job Titles:
  • Development Engineer
Craig joined Arrayjet in April 2001 and was the first employee after the company founder. He has enjoyed contributing to many of our design and production advancements. In his spare time Craig likes to unwind by writing, recording and performing music.

Dan Ryan

Job Titles:
  • Software Engineer
Dan has a Masters in Computing from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree in Biomolecular Sciences from the University of Glasgow. He creates and implements new software solutions for microarray printing while also improving current systems. In his spare time, Dan enjoys going to the cinema, cooking and travelling with his fiancée.

Denitsa Spasova

Job Titles:
  • Lab Manager
Denitsa heads up our Arrayjet Advance laboratory team, and has 6 years of experience working with microarray technologies. She has an MSci in Biochemistry and her background is in immunodiagnostics and biomarker discovery. Outside of the lab, Denitsa is a keen salsa dancer, and enjoys travelling and yoga.

Forbes Cooper

Job Titles:
  • Production & Customer Support Manager
Forbes leads our Production and Customer Service teams. His 30+ years' experience within technical and manufacturing industries encompasses product lifecycle from Design to After-Care/Warranty. To unwind, he enjoys walking his dogs, cooking meals with friends and family and lifting heavy things.

Fred Wood

Job Titles:
  • Production Engineer
Fred has worked in electronics most of his life, assembling and testing a range of high-tech products - including laser target markers, large-scale integration devices, microelectronics, and sub-sea equipment. At Arrayjet, he custom-builds our microarrayers to fit customer specifications.

Gill Lewis

Job Titles:
  • Business Support Manager
Gill joined Arrayjet in 2012, after working in the construction industry for 15 years. Her varied role includes managing Arrayjet's finances, as well as our all-important quality management systems. To unwind she enjoys reading with her book club, or going out for dinner with friends.

Iain McWilliam - CEO

Iain joined Arrayjet in 2007 as a scientist before becoming CEO in 2010. He uses his in-depth, user-level understanding of our technology to deliver long-term value to our partners. Iain was previously a Research Fellow with Cancer Research UK, and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of St Andrews.

Jakub Pakowski

Job Titles:
  • Production & Service Engineer
Jakub has a HND in Electrical Engineering from Fife College and now he is working on building our instruments and servicing them all around the world as our Production and Service Engineer. In his spare time, you might catch him shooting hoops, going on long walks with his dog, Rosa, or working on his car.

Jeffrey Call

Job Titles:

Jeffrey uses his varied background in the life science sector to provide Applications Support for our North American customers. When free time comes around, he spends it woodworking making live edge furniture, interspersed with motorcycle rides on back country trails.

Joan Salvatella

Joan leads Arrayjet's development team, who are continually improving our microarray technology. He has a degree in Computer Engineering and an MSc in Embedded and Intelligent Systems, and he played a key role developing our IrisTM Optical QC system. A keen surfer, Joan loves to travel and discover new places.

Joseph Keegan - Chairman

Joe is a director at Bio-Techne, Interpace Diagnostics, and many private life science companies, following leadership roles at ForteBio, Molecular Devices, Becton Dickinson, and Leica amongst others. He joined Arrayjet in 2017, adding extensive executive management experience and deep industry knowledge to the team.

Kirsty Macfarlane - COO

Kirsty joined Arrayjet in November 2011 and as COO she coordinates operations across Arrayjet's multi-disciplinary teams. Previously Director of Pharmacology at Aptuit, Kirsty has over 15 years experience in Operations Management within CROs and holds a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Glasgow.

Lewis Brown

Job Titles:

Lewis has worked in sales and account management since 2015. He now takes care of Arrayjet's client-base with regular support, maintenance, and consumables. In his spare time, you'll find him at the football with the Tartan Army or getting lost somewhere in the Scottish Highlands with his family.

Luis Zambrano

Luis holds a Masters in Digital Marketing from Edinburgh Napier University. He supports the marketing team by taking care of Arrayjet's digital communications channels. On his spare time, Luis enjoys swimming and collecting records from all over the world.

Mario Luongo

Mario is skilled in electrical installation and commissioning and have experience in the AV and Water (Telemetry) industries before joining Arrayjet. He travels worldwide for instrument set-up and maintenance and is active outside of work too - whether it's rugby, football, or hiking up a mountain!

Martin Ramsay - CFO

Martin joined Arrayjet in January 2013 and was appointed to the board in 2014. He brings extensive Finance experience from Mpathy Medical, Lab901, Vitrology and ScoLocate. Martin also represents Archangel Informal Investments Ltd on the board as their investor's director.

Muzi Moyo

Muzi has a HND in Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh College and now supports instrument build and maintenance as a Production & Service Engineer. At the weekends, you might catch him gliding past on his longboard.

Peter Thomson

Peter has been with Arrayjet since 2010, ensuring our microarray printers are built and maintained to exceptional quality standards. He also helps implement the latest innnovations from the development team.

Ranald Pringle

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Commercial & Finance Team
  • VP Sales - EMEA & APAC
Ranald has worked in commercial roles for technical industries since 2008. He understands how to deliver complex projects for small and large businesses, and is passionate about customer service. At the weekend, he'll be watching sport, playing guitar, and spending time with his young family.

Richard Chen

Richard has a background in biocompatibilty assessement and a Bachelors in both Biomedical Engineering and Medical Science from the University of Sydney. At Arrayjet, he has a particular research focus on small molecule microarrays. Richard enjoys creating tasty vegan meals, hillwalking, and board games.

Ryan Mercer

Ryan is one of Arrayjet's service engineers supporting customers across the globe. His varied professional background includes electrical engineering and expert maintance for high-risk equipment. In his spare time Ryan likes spending time with family, watching football and playing video games.

Serena Özkan

Serena has a Batchelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Edinburgh. Combining her passion for science and talking to customers, she is now working to identify exciting opportunities for our microarray technology to be used. In her spare time, Serena enjoys game nights with her friends and long walks in the countryside.

Tania Hancock

Tania has a Masters in Biochemistry and experience marketing a range of life-science reagents, instruments and services. She believes clear, authentic information is what connects researchers to the right solutions - and welcomes customer feedback. Tania loves going out for live music, comedy and theatre.
