CONSORTIUM

The County Probation Consortium Partnering for Youth Realignment known as the "Consortium" is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation incorporated in March 2022 as an inter-county collaborative resource for local probation departments in their efforts to serve youth with intense and complex needs who are ordered by the juvenile court into a secure youth treatment facility. The Consortium was created in response to the state's decision to close the state-operated youth correctional facilities... While the Consortium serves as a resource to assist with addressing the needs of youth committed to secure youth treatment facilities, it does not mandate what counties must do, determine placements, run facilities, or replace existing state agencies.
