Besa McDonald

Besa McDonald is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, parents, and young adults. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in psychology from Wayne State University. In the sacred space of therapy, she believes in the goodness of each and every individual who comes to her for support, and strives to make her clients feel seen, heard, and accepted for exactly who they are. She listens empathetically and seeks to understand what her client's unique strengths and needs are in order to develop meaningful and reachable goals. As a therapist, her top priority is to help her clients experience a greater sense of safety, connection, and joy so that they can reach self-actualization; or in other words, their best self. Besa recognizes the complexities that each human being presents with. For this reason, she emphasizes an integrative and individualized approach in helping her clients overcome challenges with anxiety, depression, anger, relationship challenges, grief, ADHD, trauma, and difficult life transitions. Some of her most commonly used treatment modalities include client-centered therapy, child centered play therapy, mindfulness training, somatic therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Besa believes that the client-therapist match is essential for progress to take place. For this reason, she always encourages questions to help you make more informed decisions around therapy. Devin Frazier

Devin Frazier is a Doctoral level psychologist who specializes in providing therapy to children and adolescents, as well as conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluation and assessment for all ages. Her areas of specialty include: severe anxiety, depression, self-esteem, child-parent relationship difficulties, self-harm behaviors, and childhood trauma. Dr. Frazier's background is in School Psychology and Behavioral Principles of Psychology, which she utilizes alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy interventions all based upon the individualized needs of her clients. Each client's needs are different and, therefore, no treatment plan is the same, with each treatment plan being tailored to the needs of the client. Her approach to therapy is that therapy should be enjoyable, encouraging, engaging, and realistic. Additionally, she believes the relationship between a therapist and client is paramount to the client's success and aims to create lasting, trusting, and honest relationships with each individual. She earned her Master's degree in Behavior Analysis and her Doctorate of Philosophy in School Psychology from The University of Cincinnati. The University of Cincinnati's School Psychology program is an American Psychological Association accredited program which allows Dr. Frazier to practice broadly within the discipline of Psychology. Additionally, she completed her Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internships Centers accredited Doctoral Internship at the community mental health organization OhioGuidestone in Cleveland, Ohio. Throughout her training she provided testing services to children and adolescents, provided therapy to children and their families in-home and in the school settings, as well as conducted numerous research projects while working in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, and universities. Dr. Frazier's passion is providing therapy to individuals under 25 as she believes she is best able to create genuine, empathic, and constructive relationships with these individuals and their families. In addition, she has extensive experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders as she emphasized intervention within this population through her dissertation work. Dr. Frazier enjoys working alongside other highly skilled professionals and receiving the best quality supervision from Dr. Laura Hutchison as a member of the Hutchison & Associates team!

Dr. Laura Hutchison

Dr. Laura Hutchison, is a fully licensed psychologist, specializing in helping children and their families. Being a fully licensed psychologist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT/S), she also supervises clinicians and is the founder/director of the Michigan Play Therapy Training Academy that provides high quality affordable play therapy training for clinicians. Dr. HutcH, as some call her, received her Master's and Doctorate from the Center for Humanistic Studies - which is now called the Michigan School of Psychology (MSP). Along with being a therapist, she is the proud mom to son, Henry, and daughter, Honor. You may also know Dr. H as "PlayDrMom" through her blog and social media sites that focus on her experience being a play therapist and mom.

Holly Doerr

Holly is a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist. She creates a safe space where clients can feel free to share. She meets clients on their current path and helps the to continue towards achieving their goals. Holly graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. She then obtained her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in applied behavior analysis at the Michigan School of Psychology. She has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults from different demographics and diagnoses. Treatment may include coping strategies, increasing social skills, mindfulness, play therapy and applied behavior analysis.

Jessica Ortiz

Jessica Ortiz, MA, LLP, is a Master's level therapist, who specializes in psychological testing & assessment for all ages and therapy for adolescents and adults. Her specialties include: anxiety, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, academic difficulties, and significant life changes. Her background is in Humanistic Psychology and she incorporates additional techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based interventions, based on the needs of her clients. She believes that each person is unique and works together with her clients to tailor therapy specifically for them. Her approach to therapy is that every person is capable of attaining the life they want to live and it would be her honor to share in that journey with you and help you get there! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Master's in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology. She completed her Master's clinical training at PAR Rehab, where she provided testing services to children, adolescents, and adults with presenting problems such as ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, and anxiety. She also has experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults, who she connects really well with! In addition, she has experience working with children and families, as she was a childcare provider for three years. She is excited to learn more about Play Therapy with the guidance of Dr. HutcH.

Lauren Lay

Lauren knows that our struggles do not define us as weak, inadequate, nor damaged. She holds immense empathy for others and understands that we each have our own story to tell and want to be heard without judgement. Lauren holds a genuine care for our well-being and provides an environment of understanding and unconditional positive regard. She will challenge you and allow you to discover your responsibility. She will also work with you to release you from the anxiety of those things outside of your control. As you progress towards your goals and examine the hurdles you face, you will find therapeutic mediation by breaking through these barriers to growth and well-being. Lauren tailors her clinical approach to meet each client's unique needs using a foundation of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), humanistic, Gestalt and existential therapies. Her intent is to support clients in improving self-awareness, self-regard, and self-acceptance. Additionally, she strives to help clients improve interpersonal relationships and share in healthy emotional expression. Many clients appreciate her expertise in working with adults, adolescents/teens, couples and families who experience difficulties in their relationships, emotional expression and/or anxieties. She works exceedingly well with those who may be initially hesitant to attend therapy. Clients have shared that Lauren's warm, empathic, and knowledgeable approach has resulted in a surprising degree of openness to the process and ultimately her care has supported a great deal of growth and desired change in both the individual, and their relationships. She would love to join you in your process of healing, exploration, and growth. Lauren is the managing associate and attending provider of Hutchison & Associates' Fenton Michigan office. This new satellite office is located in Fenton's historic downtown at 202 W. Shiawassee Avenue at the corner of Adelaide Street: a serene space located inside of Dibbleville's Victorian home Big Blue and the Center for Well-Being. Upon entering the clinic, take a left and head into Big Blue. You will note a large staircase on your left- please make your way up the stairs. Our office is located to your right when you arrive upstairs. Suite 212 is a waiting room for clients and families, please have a seat if Lauren's office (Suite 213) is closed.

Monika Niemasik

When children and adolescents misbehave, withdraw, or fail to meet expectations, there is typically a reason. Although as adults we may not immediately understand or appreciate their intentions, it is in Monika's experience and understanding that these behaviors are communications. It is her goal to understand these communications and to encourage parents and their children to move forward with empowered perspectives, utilizing practical strategies for growth and improvement. Monika graduated with a Master of Arts in School and Community Psychology with an Advanced Graduate Certificate in School Psychology from Wayne State University. She received my Bachelors of Arts with Honors in Developmental Psychology from the University of Windsor. Monika primarily works with children, adolescents, and their families in the identification and treatment of behavioral, emotional, social, and academic challenges.

Morgan Hadden

Morgan is a psychotherapist who works with children ages 3-12. She is passionate about helping children with emotional, behavioral, and neuro-developmental issues learn to accept themselves, discover their passions, and how to navigate daily challenges appropriately. Morgan believes that children desire to do their best. Together, she works with parents to learn your child's unique language to connect with and help uncover the valuable individual that is your child. Morgan holds a Master's degree in clinical psychology from Michigan School of Psychology. In addition to being a therapist, she enjoys reading and traveling.

Ren Burleson

Whether you are looking to heal, grow, gain insight into patterns or cycles you find yourself stuck in or reach specific goals, finding the right therapist for you is an essential piece of this process. Ren's approach is highly individualized and tailored to each client's unique experiences, background, strengths and needs. They strive to create a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for the honesty and self-exploration necessary to achieve your goals. Ren graduated in 2018 with a Master of Art in Clinical Psychology from The Michigan School of Professional Psychology. Additionally, they have experience working with adults and children in multiple inpatient psychiatric facilities and provided individual and couples therapy at Affirmations in Ferndale.

Samar Hannawi

Samar Hannawi is a psychotherapist who earned her Master's degree at MSP (Michigan School of Psychology). She works with children ages 3-11. She is passionate about working with kids and would like to help guide them on the right path to reach their fullest potential. Samar has experience working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma.

Sara Morgan

Sara has 10+ years working in the mental health field. She earned a master's degree of arts in clinical and humanistic psychology in 2008 from the School of Professional Psychology located in Farmington Hills, MI. Previously she earned a bachelor's degree of science in clinical/community psychology from University of Michigan with a minor in sociology. Sara has experience working with children, teens, adults, and veterans. In the past she has worked at an inpatient psychiatric center, an inpatient substance abuse treatment center, a domestic violence shelter, a homeless shelter, and with incarcerated men in prison settings. She also has experience working with children through volunteering in a pediatric unit in a hospital, an elementary school, a preschool, and a 4-H summer camp. Sara is currently interested in working with children, teens, and adults individually or in groups. Her approach with children is child-centered play therapy or Theraplay. Her approaches with teens and adults include cognitive behavior therapy, humanistic, and mindfulness techniques. Sara looks forward in teaming up with you to work on your goals or your child's goals in treatment.
