REEDSPACE - Key Persons
Reedspace was started in 2000 to develop what became The Courtyard in Bracknell. I had already developed a number of small office buildings in London, and wanted to apply what had been learnt at a larger scale. Developing, designing, building and managing just one building type has enabled a greater depth of expertise. Every new building is influenced by what worked and what didn't on the previous ones, supplemented by constant occupier feedback. The best studios have simple open plan layouts, heavy exposed structure and high ceilings combined with maximum daylight and natural ventilation.
Our geographic focus is London and Thames Valley town centres, and I am always looking for opportunities to either create new workplaces or transform existing buildings (see www.reedbox.co.uk and www.reedplace.co.uk). I am particularly interested in sensitive sites or Conservation Areas, and am a former Chairman of the Bloomsbury Conservation Area Advisory Committee.
