WATERWORTH CONSULTING - Key Persons

Melody Waterworth - Managing Director

Job Titles:
  • Managing Director
Melody is a Conflict and Development professional with an MSc in Conflict Resolution and Governance from the University of Amsterdam. Her specific interests lie in Conflict Transformation, Post-conflict reconstruction, DDR, local justice mechanisms, the use of restorative principles, justice and open-dialogue mediation. However, she is also avidly interested in Humanitarianism in Conflict. Academically, she has studied Conflict, Security, Human rights, Psychology and Development with a keen interest in how Climate Change affects these fields. She has a good grounding and keen interest in politics, law, human rights, and the environment and finds it easy to approach problems from an interdisciplinary, holistic perspective. However, her most notable work has been working academically and practically on disengagement from violent extremism. Professionally, while Melody began her career in politics in the United Kingdom, she has since enjoyed a varied career spanning five countries and various projects in development and humanitarian assistance. She founded Waterworth Consulting based on her growing concern that international organisations, development and humanitarian organisations weren't doing enough to address climate change in their programming. Melody enjoys connecting with people and develops international partnerships at every opportunity. Melody oversees partnerships and growth and political projects and occasionally works on research and development projects as requested.
