Founded by Amanda Qualls and Sarah Monte, Amethyst grew out of the 2020 presidential election cycle, where Sarah and Amanda met on Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign. During the cycle, the founders recognized that the operations function was often an oversight-not just in campaign-world, but in nonprofits and small businesses everywhere.
