Beal University Canada (BUC) was established in 2023 to meet the unique needs of the Atlantic region of Canada, equipping forward-looking individuals with real-world skills for careers in high-demand nursing fields. BUC currently offers the Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. BUC was inspired from its sister university in Bangor, Maine - Beal University (Beal), which was founded as a business college in the U.S. by Mary E. Beal in 1891 in Bangor, Maine. Over the next 130 years Beal evolved into a comprehensive institution with diverse academic offerings serving a wide range of students within the state of Maine and beyond its borders. In 2020, Beal College became Beal University after receiving formal authorization from its accreditor.
