Alex Park

Job Titles:
  • Project Manager
Alex is a part of Dayspring's Goodbudget team. He helps with customer support, making sure that users have their questions answered, testing, making sure the newest features are thoroughly poked and prodded before release, and project management, making sure the whole team knows what's on the agenda. He can usually be found amongst a diverse collection of Trello cards, post-it notes, and legal pads. Alex graduated from Stanford University, majoring in History. He likes cold weather (under 55°), going to bed early (before 8:30), making pizza (long cold ferment), and the 2014 Korean drama Healer (the best ever). He is also an avid triathlete, and would love to one day qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Kona.

Amy Mar

Job Titles:
  • Office Manager
As Office Manager, Amy keeps the Dayspring office running smoothly. Her responsibilities include handling Dayspring's day-to-day finances, general administration and special events. Prior to joining Dayspring's staff, Amy served as office manager at two San Francisco Bay Area law firms. Amy loves a good book and is irrepressibly devoted to the Giants-win or lose.

Andrew Lee

As a Developer, Andrew is able to take his passion for helping others by first understanding a client's needs and then working to translate that need into usable software. He specializes in frontend web development and loves to play around with Javascript, HTML, and CSS. He has a particular love for building out visual components that both look nice and are faithful to spec. Andrew graduated with a Computer Science degree from Stanford University and has worked at many different-sized companies such as Workday, Amazon, and Thumbtack. He enjoys soccer, creative writing, and DIY food recipes/experiments at his place in the Mission district.

Becky Huang

Job Titles:

Becky's skillset spans the range from user interface design to project management and user advocacy. She delights in designing interfaces that really work for users, including for Dayspring's Goodbudget household financial software division. She loves making sure that Goodbudget makes sense to users and that it's set up for the way that they want to budget. Becky previously worked at a lab mapping genes of a cute little plant called Arabidopsis, as a part of a research project investigating the effect of UV-B light. Having spent a lot of time talking to tiny plants, talking to real people is a welcome change. Becky graduated from UC Berkeley, majoring in History and Integrative Biology. Besides eating copious amounts of ice cream, she enjoys running, playing with her dog, and folding clothes.

Bill Mak

Bruce Yu

Job Titles:
  • Senior Engineer
As a Senior Engineer, Bruce's primary responsibility at Dayspring is leading teams in providing effective solutions to business problems. Over Bruce's 15+ years at Dayspring he has worked on projects for clients spanning the range from Internet startups to Fortune 500 companies-always with a singular focus on getting the job done and delivering value. Prior to joining Dayspring, Bruce was an application developer at Oracle Corporation building intranet web applications to serve its worldwide support staff. Bruce has also worked at Microsoft, part of a small team delivering a tool to support quality assurance efforts. Since this was years ago, he takes no responsibility for Vista. Bruce has a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University and is a certified Scrum Master. An accomplished violinist who soloed with the Stanford Symphony, you may catch him playing concertos in the corner conference room during lunch.

Chi-Ming Chien

Chi-Ming was part of Dayspring's founding team and assumed general management responsibilities in 2002. With one eye on technology developments and two on business value, he focuses Dayspring on delivering quality work for all our clients. With over two decades of experience in consulting and Web development, Chi-Ming has brought his insight and expertise to clients ranging from the largest corporations to midsize firms to community-based nonprofits. Before co-founding Dayspring, Chi-Ming worked for software consultancy Sapient Corporation as a consultant/developer and project manager. His responsibilities included leading a team that enhanced the online channels of a major bank's business banking operations and subsequently provided 24/7 support. Chi-Ming has also held positions at Hughes Electronics and U-Lead Systems and has worked on software and systems as diverse as satellite-based mobile telephony and call-center agent terminal applications. Chi-Ming holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Computer Architecture and an MS in Electrical Engineering, focusing on Network Systems, both from Stanford University. He graduated with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, and as a President's Scholar, Terman Scholar and David Starr Jordan Scholar. Chi-Ming lives in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco with his wife and three children.

Colleen Wong

Danny Fong

Job Titles:
  • Senior Consultant
Part of Dayspring's founding team and our first president, Danny left staff for a season and served on Dayspring's board of directors. In 2023 he returned to a staff role as a consultant and team lead. He enjoys learning new technologies and has hands-on experience with the latest in Web development. He is personable and technical. He enjoys learning a client's needs and creatively crafting solutions. Danny holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister, enjoys playing chess, and riding his e-bike.

David Lee

As a developer, David focuses on building visual elements that are both appealing and functional for our clients. He extends those aspects to his code, acknowledging the importance of simplicity and understandability. Outside of software development, David handles technical project management, where he helps his clients make sense of their software solutions. He specializes in Javascript, HTML, and CSS. David graduated from the University of California San Diego with a BS in Computer Science, and is known in the office as having the most varied mode of commute-alternating between and combining bus, train, bicycle, skateboard, foot, and occasionally car. In his free time, David is an avid participant in action sports such as rock climbing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and breakdancing.

Doug Lee

Doug grew up in the sleepy college town of Davis, CA, and vowed never to live in the dirty, dangerous, and crowded city. He has lived in San Francisco for over 30 years.

Ed McKelpin

As a designer, Ed has significant experience in brand identity and packaging, having worked for global brands and local startups for over 20 years. He brings structure and clarity to all of his visual work. Ed also has a passion for photography as another outlet to express his creativity. A favorite subject to photograph is the city of San Francisco. He met Janet while they were both students in Hawaii.

Jeffrey Wong

  • Lead Engineer at Dayspring
As a Lead Engineer at Dayspring, Jeffrey manages teams and architects Web software in PHP and Java and has also worked to integrate applications with web services ranging from Salesforce.com's Force.com API to PayPal to CyberSource's online payment processing. Prior to joining Dayspring, Jeff worked on software development process optimization at the Collaborative Agent Design Research Center at Cal Poly, improving source control and implementing a continuous integration build process. Jeff holds a BS in Computer Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He started with programming his Legos® in junior high and has never quite kicked the coding habit since.

John Greenhill

Since beginning his tenure at Dayspring in 2001, John has managed and developed on a variety of Web projects, from 2.0 community sites to custom content management systems and customer service applications. Clients that have benefited from John's clear communication and disciplined focus on execution run the gamut from publishing giants to startups to foundations. John serves as company Vice President. He comes to Dayspring from previous roles as a certified Microsoft and Novell technical trainer and network engineer, including a stint in Peru. John holds his BS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Virginia. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children and has a penchant for Peruvian food.

Jonathan Yee

Job Titles:
  • Senior Engineer
Jonathan brings well over a decade of experience in software development to bear on the business problems of clients ranging from retailers to VC firms to businesses organizing their model around the Web. He specializes in PHP and MySQL development, and also has a growing passion for front-end technologies and client-side applications. Prior to joining Dayspring, Jonathan was a Senior Developer at CNET and ZDNet, engineering web applications for their Games & Entertainment websites, including PHP development on the GameSpot site which handled in excess of 5 million monthly unique visitors. Prior to CNET, Jon held positions at the NASA Ames Research Center and Galorath Inc. Jonathan graduated from UCLA with a BS in Mathematics/Applied Science. Like any true Bostonian, Jonathan closely follows the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.

Karisa Musolf

Karisa's role at Dayspring is Customer Support & Marketing with the Goodbudget team. She assists users with their questions, and helps them understand the ins and outs of this budgeting tool. Prior to joining the team at Dayspring, Karisa was on staff with Cru Global on the UC Berkeley campus where she attended school. She received her B.A. in Linguistics which initiated a desire to work with and for people. When she's not at work, Karisa enjoys listening to and playing music and cleaning. Really.

Louie Henson

As a developer, Louie has always focused more on backend development. However, he's hoping to expand his skillset and get his hands dirty with more of the visual aspects of web dev. Louie graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of the Philippines and previously worked at a few small startups before eventually ending up in Dayspring. After work, you might find him tinkering with a piece of hardware or playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends. I love building and flying drones so much that I got a part of the code I use for my drones tattooed on my arm so I never forget.

Matthew Denson

Job Titles:
  • Engineering Lead
As a Lead Engineer, Matthew has played a key role over a couple decades in designing and developing the database-driven systems that Dayspring prepares for its clients. He also keeps his eye on the latest advances in software architecture and particularly enjoys designing software solutions that are innovative and elegant for problems that haven't been approached before. Before joining Dayspring, Matthew developed software as a Naval Architect at a commercial ship design and engineering firm in the Bay Area. The software he developed is still used by ship's officers to safely maximize the cargo carried. Matthew holds a BS in Naval Architecture from the Webb Institute. Matthew lives in Port Angeles, WA with his family. He has been known to take vacation time to build and refurbish stringed instruments and hopes eventually to build a kayak.

Shane Chao

Shane is a Senior Engineer and System Administrator for Dayspring, responsible for day-to-day management and technical support for Dayspring's Web hosting environment. If you host with us and you're having a problem, Shane's probably already on it. He holds a side job trying to prevent our devs from proliferating virtualized servers without his permission. Prior to joining Dayspring, Shane worked as a Senior Field Applications Engineer for KLA-Tencor where he developed analytical solutions and trained engineers on KLA-Tencor products. His past experience includes semiconductor process development and IS integration of statistical quality control systems. Shane graduated with a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz. In his spare time he enjoys building paper airplanes with his sons.

Stanley Situ

As a developer at Dayspring, Stanley utilizes a wide array of tools to bring specs and visual concepts to life. Though a visual person by heart, he focuses a lot on the backend side of projects such as PHP and MySQL. Stanley graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Computer Science. Outside of work, he goes out on runs along the Embarcadero, watches shows about food and travel, spends time investing in a local community in Chinatown, and plays Magic the Gathering online. One thing he hopes to do again is to bike through the beautiful city of Davis. Years at Dayspring: 8 I took a class on the history of The Beatles in college.

Stephen Baity

As a developer Stephen has worked on Devops projects in the past, but is eager to immerse himself into both front and backend work! Stephen holds a BFA in Musical Performance and a BS in Computer Science from Notre Dame de Namur University. He has lived in San Jose his whole life, and his hobbies include music production and basketball.
