REZVANI LAB

The overarching goal of the DFG-Emmy Noether Program-funded Rezvani lab @ Charité University Medicine Berlin is to identify novel signals that restore physiological liver function and regeneration in chronic injuries. Because many chronic liver diseases are caused or influenced by an inflammatory process, we innovate human organoids with a syngeneic "immune system" to reverse-engineer inter-lineage pathophyiologies. Ultimately, we work towards in vivo hepatic reprogramming of injured liver cells as treatment strategy for fibro-inflammatory processes in chronic liver diseases of children and adults.
