Dr. Joel Strom

As a native Angeleno, Dr. Strom has practiced general dentistry for more than 35 years in the greater Los Angeles area and is a longtime provider of charitable care to WWII and disabled vets. Dr. Strom has been an active leader within the dental profession as President of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society, President of the California State Dental Board, and an appointee of three separate Governors to numerous positions. Having served in two faculty positions at USC School of Dentistry (teaching pediatric nutrition and Course Director for Ethics in the Practice of Dentistry) Dr. Strom is a lecturer and frequent panelist at local universities. He received his DDS from the University of the Pacific after graduating from USC with a degree in Psychology, and early in his career was recruited by Columbia University as an NIH Post-Doctoral Fellow and was a faculty member at Columbia University Medical School. When not in the office, Dr. Strom enjoys running a non-profit formed to recruit, educate and organize health care professionals to become more engaged in the political process and provides policy input to numerous elected officials at the state and federal levels.

Dr. Kari L. Sakurai

Dr. Sakurai graduated with honors from the University of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed residency training in Hospital Dentistry at the UCLA Medical Center, where she continues to teach. Her resident training includes courses in sedation, medical emergencies, CPR, treatment of medically compromised patients (emphasis on dental anxiety and esthetic dentistry). She has been past Director of Operating Room procedures in the Section of Hospital Dentistry and was the first dentist to serve on the Heart Lung transplant team. Dr. Sakurai has been interviewed by news sources for current advances in dentistry, authored many clinical research papers, and made appearances on shows such as The Doctors (CBS) and Best of LA (KCAL9). Dr. Sakurai is the former President of the Academy for Excellence in Dentistry, a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing education and scholarship for local dental schools. She is also involved in other charities including the Give Back a Smile program, UCLA Cancer research, and American Heart Association.

Dr. Kimberly Klein

Dr. Klein truly loves being able to make a difference in someone's life. She is focused on providing her patients with a pleasant dental experience so they can enjoy coming to her office and be treated like a member of her family. Dr. Klein has a particular passion for treating patients with special needs and has been doing so for ten years. She trained at New York University for dental school and continued her dental education at UCLA's prestigious Hospital Dentistry Residency. Dr. Klein taught for UCLA's residency program for 9 years where she helped train dentists how to work in the operating room, perform IV conscious sedation and provide comprehensive dental care for medically compromised, special needs and oral cancer patients. She understands the need and demand for care among the special needs population so she has dedicated time in her private practice to do so. Dr. Klein currently teaches part time at Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC where she manages the operating room for the special patient's clinic in addition to working part time in Beverly Hills. In her free time Dr. Klein loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and dog.

Dr. Philip J. Shindler

Dr. Philip Shindler, D.D.S. grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa where he graduated from the prestigious school of dentistry at WITS University. In 1981, he immigrated to California where he completed a postgraduate program at UCLA. He has been working in the Agoura Hills/Westlake Village area since 1987.

Dr. Roger Yamashiro

Dr. Yamashiro and his staff offer quality and experience. Did you know Dr. Yamashiro was an Assistant Professor at the USC School of Dentistry for 12 years? He was also elected as a Fellow to the American College of Dentists which is honored to the top 3% of the dentists in the Nation. Many of Dr. Yamashiro's hygienists have over 20 years experience and have also taught at various hygiene schools. San Dee, our office manager, has over 25 years experience in the dental field and is very clear, compassionate, and concise in her communications with patients. Our dental assistants have been with Dr. Yamashiro for over 15 years and are very efficient and congenial.

Dr. Shula Harkavy

Dr. Shulamit Harkavy grew up in Seattle, Washington and attended the University of Washington where she received a bachelor's degree in Biology. Eager to pursue a career in Dentistry, Dr. Harkavy worked in a private practice to learn the ins and outs of the front and back office before attending the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. After graduating with high honors, Dr. Harkavy moved further down the Pacific coast to complete a General Practice Residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She then joined Strom and Associates and enjoys learning and working alongside her uncle, Dr. Joel Strom. Dr. Harkavy loves baking, rollerblading, rooting for the Washington Husky football team and spending time with her family

Dr. William S. Crawford

Dr. William Crawford was born and raised in a rural town in Northern Nevada. He attended the University of Oregon for his undergraduate training, majoring in Biology and went on to dental school at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, graduating with a D.D.S. degree in 1980. Dr. Bill's office is nick-named "Covina Hills Dental," is located at the corner of Covina Hills Road and Grand Avenue, just a few blocks north of the 10 freeway in Covina, California. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Gabriel Dental Society.
