Alexander (Sandy) McQuarrie

Alexander McQuarrie was called to the Bar in B. C. in 1981. Since then he has practiced civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury law. As a result, he has considerable trial experience. From 1999 to 2010 he worked in the litigation department of ICBC defending against personal injury claims. In June 2010, Mr. McQuarrie joined Stephens & Holman bringing his experience to practice exclusively as a Plaintiff's personal injury lawyer. His clients over the years have had a variety of serious injury claims including brain injuries, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain and psychological injuries. These injuries have resulted in various economic losses such as wage loss, complex business income losses and loss of earning capacity. Mr. McQuarrie selects the appropriate medical, financial and engineering experts that may be required to prove these damages. Before attending law school Mr. McQuarrie obtained his B.Comm and MBA from UBC. He worked as a real estate consultant and licensed realtor. He has been active in the New Westminster Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoy skiing, travelling and spending time at their cabin in Point Roberts. They have one son, who is embarking on a career as a Lawyer.

Brendan Veale

Brendan Veale was called to the bar in 1998. Prior to joining Stephens & Holman, he worked in litigation in Edmonton focussing on personal injury from 2000 onwards. He obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta. Brendan has acted exclusively for plaintiffs for some time and continues to do so. Brendan is married and lives in Vancouver. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, hockey, traveling, and writing.

Karen E. Munro

Karen E. Munro was called to the bar in 1997. She has been with Stephens & Holman since 1998, and has conducted trials at both the Supreme and Provincial Courts of British Columbia, as well as having acted as counsel at numerous case mediations. Prior to her call to the bar, Ms. Munro earned her law degree from the University of British Columbia. Her pre-law studies were at the University of Calgary, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communication Studies. Ms. Munro is currently a member of the Trial Lawyers' Association of British Columbia and has been a presenter at a seminar and a contributor to a publication produced by that organization. Ms. Munro provides volunteer legal services through Access Pro Bono, and does non-law volunteer work for the Canadian FOP Network, the International FOP Association, the Rare Disease Foundation and Girl Guides of Canada. Ms. Munro and her husband are the parents of two school-aged children.

Paul Nigol

Paul Nigol was called to the Alberta Bar in 2003 after completing his legal studies at the University of Calgary, where he also completed his Ph.D. in Legal History. Following law school, Paul practiced in the areas of commercial litigation and insolvency law at a major Calgary law firm before moving to Vancouver in 2005, when he began practicing Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law. In his spare time, Paul enjoys skiing, hiking, yoga, cycling and fishing.

He and Vic Stephens formed the partnership of Stephens & Holman in 1983 and he has been practicing personal injury law since then. Prior to studying Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, Mr Holman earned a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Physics, from York University. Mr Holman has three children and enjoys family time, films, music and wine.
