Andrew is United Way of Metro Chicago's first ever General Counsel. He provides strategic advice and legal counsel on a pro bono basis, while maintaining his role as a litigation partner at Jenner & Block LLP.
Andrew has long served as a chair of Jenner & Block's pro bono program. Under Andrew's leadership, the program has been ranked and recognized repeatedly by the American Lawyer as the top pro bono program in the United States. More recently, Andrew spearheaded the firm's publicly announced commitment to provide at least $250 million in pro bono services to those in need of legal services over the five-year period.
At Jenner & Block, Andrew will continue to focus his practice on strategic business counseling and complex litigation. In addition, Andrew currently serves on the board of the Legal Aid Society of Chicago.

Anna Lee is United Way of Metro Chicago's Vice President of Initiatives and Public Programming. In this role, Anna works with community leaders, public sector partners, donors, and academic institutions in innovative efforts to build a stronger region. Anna holds a deep understanding of United Way's core work as she co-managed and served as The Chicago Community Trust's point person on the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund, a partnership between the two organizations, which raised over $35 million to support the region's residents most in need of support amid the COVID-19 crisis. Prior to United Way, Anna was at The Chicago Community Trust as a Senior Director of Community Impact. She led The Trust's Addressing Critical Needs strategy, which included change-making efforts in building pathways to stability, promoting well-being, and strengthening social cohesion. Under Anna's direction, this grantmaking strategy responded to the region's most urgent needs and advanced policies and practices in strengthening the human service sector. Before her time at The Trust, Anna was the Director of Operations for Year Up Chicago, leading strategic planning efforts and overseeing day-to-day operations for the organization. She also held leadership roles in the public sector, including the Director of Research, Reporting & Communications and, later, the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Management at the Chicago Housing Authority. Anna also directed the contracting process at the City of Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services and oversaw community development grants at the City's Office of Budget and Management's Empowerment Zone. Anna earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Boston College and master's degrees in divinity and public policy, both from the University of Chicago. Chris Preston brings a strong commitment to and understanding of United Way's mission and work as he has been part of the United Way network for 20 years. Prior to becoming the chief development officer for United Way of Metro Chicago, Chris led the corporate relations team for United Way Worldwide. The team's purview included the Global Corporate Leadership program, United Way's flagship corporate partner and recognition program, which consists of 94 corporate partners that raised a combined total of over $900 million for United Ways in communities around the globe and provides support to local United Ways in their overall fundraising efforts as part of the $4.7 billion United Way network. In addition to the Global Corporate Leadership program, the corporate relations team's purview included working with the United Way network to support and amplify other national and global corporate partnerships, cause marketing efforts for United Way, and the National Football League partnership. Chris spent the first 11 years of his United Way career at United Way Worldwide with roles as national sales manager of the United Way Store and corporate relations manager for the Global Corporate Leadership team. In addition to those roles, he was resource development liaison for United Way Worldwide's Africa Region, convener for the Young Leaders Business Resource Group of United Way Worldwide's Diversity & Inclusion Council, and Project Manager for the Network Engagement and Support Team Committee for United Way's U.S. Task Force on Economic Model & Growth. In addition to his roles at United Way Worldwide, Chris has served two other local United Ways. First, as the senior vice president, strategic and regional management at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. In that role, Chris assumed chief of staff duties and was responsible for the management and execution of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey's organizational strategies across the region. Chris also served as vice president, resource development, at United Way of the National Capital Area in Washington, D.C. In that role, he led the development team in managing a $33 million annual fundraising effort. Chris attended George Mason University and has continued to support his alma mater, where he has served as president of the University's Alumni Association and was named the university's 2021 Alumnus of the Year. Eithne is responsible for developing and shepherding United Way of Metro Chicago's federal, state and local legislative policy agenda to ensure that it reflects United Way's values and priorities and supports the human services agencies that we fund.
Prior to joining United Way in 2018, Eithne served as the associate director of policy for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless where she worked to increase funding for affordable housing and homeless services throughout the state of Illinois. Her two decades of experience allow her to leverage an extensive network of relationships in the human services sector. Gus manages United Way's relationship with labor unions and coordinates volunteer opportunities and fundraising campaigns for Chicago-area union members, such as the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Additionally, he oversaw Access United, a program in partnership with the Chicago Federation of Labor that assisted individuals in obtaining careers in union construction. Jackie Grimes serves as vice president of marketing and communications at United Way of Metro Chicago. She joined United Way as the director of marketing in 2015 and now leads the organization's marketing, communications, and digital engagement strategy. Prior to joining United Way, Jackie honed her marketing and communications skills at Chicago advertising agencies working on brands such as MillerCoors, Jim Beam, and Maytag. However, it was her time spent working at two of Chicago's cultural gems-the Museum of Science and Industry and Shedd Aquarium-where she discovered her love of nonprofit marketing. Although new to the city of Chicago, but never one to shy away from a challenge, she started her career in tourism marketing at Shedd. Jackie quickly learned about marine life and a new city as she was responsible for marketing the aquarium to local, national, and international tourism groups. Her time at the Museum of Science Industry furthered her love of all things Chicago and provided her with the opportunity to grow as a nonprofit marketing leader. Jackie was a key project lead for the Museum's rebranding efforts in 2010 and led the execution of marketing plans for popular exhibit launches including Harry Potter: The Exhibition, Science Storms, Christmas Around the World, and many others. Jackie earned her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a faithful supporter of all U of I athletic teams (although the football team can make it challenging at times). Jeffrey Gawel is a mission-oriented technology leader and educator with more than 20 years of experience helping nonprofit, government, and academic organizations maximize impact using technology and data. As the chief information and technology officer for United Way of Metro Chicago, he is responsible for driving the technology and innovation strategy for the organization so that it can meet its goal of building a stronger, more equitable Chicago region. Since 2003, he has also been an adjunct lecturer for the UIC Department of Public Policy, Management, and Analytics, teaching courses in project management, data management, and civic technology. Prior to joining United Way of Metro Chicago, Jeffrey was the chief information officer for six years at Illinois Action for Children, overseeing the operations and strategic growth of the organization's technology and data infrastructure. Jeffrey has also served as the workforce information systems implementation director and director of information technology at Chapin Hall. Prior to that, he served in various technology leadership positions at the Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority (MPEA), a municipal corporation that owns the McCormick Place convention center and historic Navy Pier in Chicago. Jose Rico serves as the Partnerships and Initiatives Consultant at United Way of Metro Chicago. He joined United Way in 2015 to lead the organization's community impact work in education, income, health and basic needs support. He has since transitioned to oversee United Way's policy work, labor team - including Access United, as well as all government and external community partnerships. An immigrant from southwest Mexico, Jose once longed for a sense of home in his new land. He's since found it in Chicago, where he has, in turn, invested his passion and energy to transforming lives through fostering relationships between neighbors and community stakeholders. He envisions strong neighborhoods to be communities where residents can not only find the tools necessary to get out of crises, but to thrive and to find a sense of hope and belonging. Prior to his tenure at United Way, Jose was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as the executive director of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics. He was integral in developing Promise Neighborhood grants that support cradle-to-career programming in underinvested neighborhoods across the country. Kate Maver is the regional director of development, north-northwest, for United Way of Metro Chicago. A native of the north and northwest suburbs, Kate is laser-focused on helping to create healthy, thriving, and equitable communities in the region. A veteran fundraiser with experience in increasing financial capacity in a wide variety of nonprofit agencies, Kate's strengths are in careful listening and facilitating connections that spark positive change. She loves to help donors put their highest values into practice through their giving. Kimberlee Guenther, Ph.D. serves as Chief Impact Officer at United Way of Metro Chicago. She joined United Way as the Manager of Research and Evaluation in 2013, and now leads the organization's community impact program funding and Neighborhood Network initiative. As a steward of United Way's grantmaking and community engagement, Kimberlee wholly embodies our mission to build strong neighborhoods.
Prior to joining United Way, Kimberlee was a community-based researcher, combining arts programming and ethnography at The Field Museum and the Center for Urban Research and Learning at Loyola University. Raised in the northwest suburbs with a deep appreciation of Chicago's architecture and culture, this experience opened her eyes to the incredible power of community knowledge and creativity.
Kimberlee earned her undergraduate degree in sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a master's degree from the University of Connecticut, and a Ph.D. in sociology from Loyola University Chicago. Her doctoral research focused on public housing redevelopment and community resident leadership in Chicago and Sydney, Australia.

As regional director of development, south-southwest, Maya Hardy oversees community impact efforts, expands engagement with local stakeholders and represents United Way in community discussions and planning. She also serves as the lead staff member supporting the recruitment, cultivation and engagement of the South-Southwest Suburban Regional Board of Directors. With more than 15 years of experience in the community and government relations sector, Maya takes great pride in her work and the impact United Way has on individuals living in the community she's called "home" for 21 years. Prior to her six-year tenure at United Way, Maya was the senior manager of Government Relations for The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and district administrator for former Illinois State Rep. Will Davis. Maya's dedication to community organizing extends beyond her professional life. As president and chief executive officer of United Way of Metro Chicago, Sean is leading a long-term regional recovery effort by collaborating with donors, community leaders and residents to ensure our neighbors can meet their basic needs such as food, shelter and safety and that neighborhoods are built back stronger and more equitably through our place-based initiatives such as the Neighborhood Network. Sean believes that neighborhood change happens when community voices are amplified and organized to unlock the positive changes that live in every single one of our communities.
Since joining the United Way of Metro Chicago in 2018, Sean has secured the largest corporate gift in organization history, $10 million from BMO Harris for our Austin Neighborhood Network, as well as $25 million from MacKenzie Scott.
Sean spearheaded the launch of the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund. This fund was developed in partnership with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Community Trust and raised $35 million, which went directly to 400 nonprofits serving on the frontlines in Chicago neighborhoods. Sean was at the forefront of Chicago Connected, where United Way of Metro Chicago worked in partnership with Kids First Chicago, Chicago Public Schools and other funders to provide four years of free internet service to 100,000 Chicago families.
Prior to joining the Metro Chicago team, Sean served as the executive director of United Way of Central Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before that, he held several positions with United Way Worldwide, including vice president of development. He started his career as a community fellow at United Way of Dane County Wisconsin and also served in the Major Gifts department at United Way of Metro Chicago.
Sean is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, Commercial Club of Chicago and Executives' Club of Chicago. He is also a member of the leadership team for the Corporate Coalition of Chicago. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and management from Georgetown University and his MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
Though Sean has enjoyed living in a variety of cities throughout the country, he and his wife Emily, a banker with J.P. Morgan Capital Corp., are delighted to be back in Chicago with their two sons. Sean is an avid runner, accomplished grill master and sports enthusiast.
