Jully Sadadiwala

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Student
Jully graduated from Drexel University in 2015 with a major in Biological sciences and minor in psychology. Later, Jully completed her Master's in Microbiology and Immunology at Jefferson University. Her thesis research was performed at Integral molecular, specifically using high-throughput screening to discover novel receptors for Dengue virus serotype 3 using the membrane proteome array (MPA). Jully then joined the molecular microbiology and microbial pathogenesis PhD program at Washington University, where she joined the Philips' lab. Jully is interested in studying and characterizing Mtb effectors that regulate or undermine host immune responses to persist and establish infection. Her thesis project focuses on studying the Mtb protein CpsA and its role in inhibiting xenophagy through interactions with host factors. Additionally, she would like to study host-pathogen interactions, with a focus on Mtb biology and pathogenesis.

Krishna Prasad

Job Titles:
  • Post Doc
Krishna completed his 5-years Integrated M. Sc in Biotechnology at St. Xavier's College Kolkata, India in the year 2012. Later, he joined as a PhD student in Dr Arunika Mukhopadhaya's lab at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, India. During his doctoral research, he investigated the signalling mechanisms underlying the immune responses elicited by innate immune cells upon recognition of Vibrio cholerae outer membrane protein OmpU. He received his PhD degree in August 2020 for his thesis titled ‘Vibrio cholerae OmpU activate distinct signalling cascades in innate immune cells'. He started working in Dr Jennifer Philips lab in August 2020. He is new to the field of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection biology. He is beginning to understand how Mtb employs a plethora of effector proteins to evade the host immune defences, thereby causing tuberculosis disease.
