Charles Humphrey III - Founder

Charles Humphrey III founder of Beast Coast Anglers started fly fishing as a teenager. He has called the waters of Western North Carolina home since 1999. As a touring bluegrass musician, he had the opportunity to fly fish in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon, Alaska, and Canada!

Michael Malek

Michael comes straight from the cheese state of WI where he grew up on a lake fishing the Great Lakes for Salmon, and the local lakes for all the native species of the state. After moving to NC 9 years ago his passion for fly fishing took over and he is a very dedicated knowledgeable angler and guide. He loves to be on the rivers sharing his experience while teaching clients about the conservation of the local trout habitat. He is also a retired chef, so if you go out with him the meals are worth it just for that. Besides fishing Michael is also a banjo player who's recently left the group Into The Fog, keep an eye out for him on stage after hunting trout in the Western NC. When not on the river Michael loves to home-brew while tying fly's and relaxing with his wife and dog.

Miles Perry

With a connection to fishing since he was a child, Miles has always felt a calling to help people catch fish. After living and fishing in Colorado and Wyoming for over a decade, he once again calls North Carolina home. Along with fly fishing he is also a master fly tyer and well-known musician whose talents have been showcased with the band Caribou Mountain Collective. Miles enjoys long walks on the beach, raging bluegrass, and putting fish in the net.

Tyler Bowlin

As an Asheville native, Tyler grew up fishing the lakes, streams, and rivers of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee since he could walk searching for smallmouth bass, native brook trout and everything in between. In Addition to the rivers of the Southeast, Tyler also has extensive fly fishing experience on the Upper Colorado, the Blue, the Eagle river, the Green River (UT), Henry's Fork (ID), Yellowstone, Flat Creek/ Snake River (Jackson, WY), and the North Platte (WY) to name a few. Tyler looks forward to using his 30+ years fishing, 20+ years in Hospitality, and a lifetime of local knowledge to make your trip an authentic and fun experience for the ages.
