Chance was born and raised in Los Angeles. He is the son of the iconic broadcaster Larry King. An ex-professional athlete, Chance attended the world-renowned IMG Academy and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2017 MLB draft. After his baseball career, Chance graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2021.
