Chad V. Ruffin

Chad Ruffin, MD, is board certified in otolaryngology. He provides surgical care for ear and hearing disorders; issues with sinuses, nasal breathing, and sleep apnea; and tonsils, voice, thyroid, and head and neck tumors/cancer. His surgical training was completed at Indiana University, one of the most rigorous otolaryngology residency programs. He received research grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, and the National Institutes of Health. He has published in multiple journals and his advocacy efforts were recognized by Science. As an honored attendee at the American Academy of Achievement, he shared the challenges of hearing loss with heads of state and other luminaries. He has also shared his insights at the Exponential Medicine Conference hosted by Singularity University. Dr. Ruffin is among the first people born with severe hearing loss to become a surgeon, and he has a particular passion for helping those with hearing loss achieve their goals. To improve hearing healthcare, he complements his surgical practice as an auditory neuroscientist, hearing technology innovator, and a mentor to d/Deaf healthcare students. In his free time, he enjoys flying, tennis, hiking, backcountry camping and rafting, and reading poetry.

Jamie Gilman

The allergy shot program, which was previously under the administration of Dr. Calvin Knapp and Dr. John Burgoyne, has been relocated to a naturopathic clinic and continues to be managed by Jamie Gilman, CMA. In partnership with the physicians at the facility, patients are assessed and managed for environmental allergies using allergy shots or sublingual drops under her supervision. Patients who have reached the maintenance level are eligible to receive their shots for self-administration in the comfort of their own homes. Jamie is actively collaborating with allergy staff at South Seattle Otolaryngology to enhance and further develop the allergy shot program there as well.

Peter F. Maurice

Peter F. Maurice, MD, is a highly specialized otolaryngologist, and fellowship-trained in plastic surgery. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Maurice received his medical degree from Georgetown University, in Washington, DC, where he was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Maurice then was selected for a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. This full-year training program gave him a unique opportunity to study with one of the AAFPRS's master surgeons in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At South Seattle Otolaryngology, patients benefit from a team of on-site audiologists and allergy specialists, in addition to a team of otolaryngologists with over 50 years of combined experience.
