Dr Mark Stoneham

Dr Mark Stoneham is a Consultant Anaesthetist working at all the hospitals in Oxford. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia in the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics at the University of Oxford. Mark graduated from Cambridge University in 1987 and trained in anaesthesia in Oxford, the South West of England and Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. His specialist interest is in regional local anaesthesia (particularly in awake carotid artery surgery), he has published papers and lectures internationally and nationally on this subject. Mark is also a keen cyclist, having completed the Alpe D'Huez Etape de Tour and IronMan Switzerland.

Lesley Howard

Lesley has been with Mr Sadler for many years. Initially his PA in the NHS, where she was responsible for all the outpatient and theatre lists for two Consultant surgeons, she moved to be the full time Office Manager for Oxford Hernia Clinic over 10 years ago. Lesley is the first point of contact for most patients and will organise and arrange your hospital stay, supply you with the relevant OPCS Codes (if you are privately insured) and liaise with you around admission and outpatient times. Lesley works daily from 9 to 5pm every week day and can be contacted by telephone or by email.

Mr Greg Sadler

Greg Sadler is the Surgical Director and founder of Oxford Hernia Clinic. He qualified in 1982 from the Welsh National School of Medicine and gained wide experience in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery before moving to Oxford in 1993. Mr Sadler is an internationally recognised surgeon having trained at the John Radcliffe, Oxford; University of Wales, Cardiff and Mount Zion Hospital, San Francisco. He lectured nationally and internationally, has written many surgical text book chapters and published regularly in peer reviewed surgical papers. Mr Sadler now only performs local aneasthetic hernia surgery. He is the largest single user of ProGrip mesh in the United Kingdom (approximately 4000 procedures) and has performed almost 6000 career hernia operations. Greg is also a keen cyclist having finished the Alpe D'Huez section of the Etape de Tour and is an IronMan Western Australia finisher. His recent cycling adventures include cycling coast to coast across Costa Rica, across Thailand and Laos and recently Madagascar.

Vanessa Hayward

Vanessa is the Business Manager for Oxford Hernia Clinic and is responsible for all aspects of marketing having completed a Diploma in Digital Marketing in Oxford. Vanessa is a qualified pharmacist who has previously worked as the Clinical and Harm Reduction Lead for the commissioning of drug and alcohol services in Oxfordshire. Prior to this she worked as a Postgraduate Course Director and Tutor at both the Welsh School of Pharmacy and Reading University. Vanessa is a keen tennis player and cyclist (having cycled across Myanmar, Costa Rica, Loas and Madigascar).
