The simple locking mechanism utilizes a Skog high tech rubber band that loops around the door striker. This provides vibration free operation while driving your Jeep. Skog rubber bands are made from black EPDM rubber. This rubber provides excellent durability and strength. The published tensile strength per ASTM D412 is 2523 psi. EPDM has a strong resistance to UV light, moisture, heat, and cold.
