At a young age Alan showed a keen interest in cars, leaving School at 16 he worked in a garage as an apprentice mechanic in Perth. After passing his driving test at 17 he bought his first car. The Vauxhall Astra was a project with badly oxidised red paintwork and mechanically poor. It didn't take him long before the Astra was looking half its age and mechanically sound, the bug caught hold!
A few years later Alan moved to Aberdeen to work in Oil & Gas while in his spare time valeting & detailing cars, he strived to continually improve his skills and techniques as well as satisfying his obsession for perfection.
Following the downturn in Oil & Gas which was compounded at the same time as COVID-19 Alan found himself being made redundant after 19 years working for the same company. As one door closes another opens and i4 Detailing was born.
