LAKE ERIE TRUCKING

Lake Erie Transportation's evolution has been deeply rooted in the Erie community since the 1930's. In the beginning, the Benacci family started running produce from their farm to the tri-state region with two stake body trucks. Joe Benacci expanded his trucking fleet to form Lake Erie Trucking, Inc in 1953. Deregulation of interstate trucking in the ‘80s helped the Benacci family flourish with trucking, warehousing, and leasing. In 1998 the Benacci family sold their Truckload division and Purchased Dodsworth Trucking, a well-established LTL cartage agent servicing Erie, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and all points in between. The Benacci family wanted to expand into third party Logistics, which led to the hiring of Chuck Sites to oversee the formation of a new company, Lake Erie Logistics, LLC. Lake Erie Logistics was now able to offer Local and nation-wide transportation and warehousing. In 2016, Chuck Sites headed up an investment group to purchase Lake Erie Logistics. Lake Erie..
