QUANTIL - Key Persons
Barry joined the Quantil family in 1988 as Manager of (then) Quantil Seeds Limited. Now Managing Director of Quantil Seed Services and our sister business, Barry heads up the team of Directors, providing essential support, and managing projects and acquisitions. He spearheads long-term strategy for both businesses, and has been the driving force behind some of our most significant developments.
David joined his father, Warwick Symondson, in the running of the farm in the mid-80's. David has been the driving-force behind refining and evolving farming activities, including the move into glasshouse production and the concentration of arable activities on cereal growing and seed services. Throughout, David has been chairman of the company whilst developing his other interests in the private equity world.
Outside of work, David enjoys country pursuits, skiing, culture and relaxing with his family.
Jeanette joined the company in 2021 as Financial Director for both Quantil businesses. She takes the lead on our accounting strategy and financial planning, and takes an overview of the business, streamlining processes and ensuring that we respond to the new challenges of the industry in a positive, efficient way.
Jeanette loves being in the great outdoors and is a keen horse rider, hiker and dog lover. She has two flat-coated retrievers and a Dutch Warmblood called Mr Bo.
John joined Quantil in 2016 as assistant sales manager. Today, his main responsibilities include driving sales, managing growing contracts, crop inspecting, production planning & organising haulage.
When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family, socialising with friends, and watching or participating in a wide variety of sports.
Mandy joined the team in September 2005 to assist with the wallflower season on a part-time basis. She joined Quantil Agriculture full-time in 2006, initially assisting in the cereal sales and then taking on the responsibility for credit control for both companies. She also completes the seed sales royalty payment preparation and the subsequent external audits.
When not taking care of her own dairy and arable farm outside of Quantil, Mandy enjoys riding her horse and reading.
Phil joined Quantil in 1985 as a tractor driver, and moved onto the seeds side of operations in 1988. Today, he is responsible for the running of the seed cleaning plant, crop inspections of seed crops grown for us, and certification of processed seed lots.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys country pursuits, watching his team play at Anfield, DIY, and socialising with friends and family.
Roger joined the team in 1990 as an assistant farm manager. Today, he is responsible for the production of all crops and the management of the land holdings.
Outside of work, Roger is a keen road cyclist, owner of 5 dogs, and enjoys taking and watching his girls in their sporting events.
Stuart joined the company in 1985 as a general farm worker. After three or so years, he moved into the seed side of the company, and qualified as an HGV driver. Stuart delivers all company products to all parts of the UK.
Outside of work, Stuart enjoys watching a large variety of sports, spending time with his family and walking his dog.
Our founder, Warwick Symondson, purchased our farm site and land in the early 1950s. Whilst our farming activities have varied over the years, processing seed in our onsite mill has been at the heart of operations from the start.
