Anna joined BPS Law in 2012, having completed her law degree at The University of Manchester.
Anna specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, and is based in our central Manchester office. Working with Harry Lipson, Senior Partner, Anna advises clients on a wide range of commercial and private client litigation matters.
She regularly deals with all manner of contract and tortious disputes, with particular expertise in dealing with insurance disputes and professional negligence claims. Anna has significant experience of handling high value claims and is able to confidently navigate her way through complex litigation.

Anna is passionate about music and enjoys going to live gigs in her spare time. She has a keen interest in the arts and travel and is always looking to explore new cultural hotspots all around the world.

Dean joined BPS in November 2012 and specialises in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims.
Dean's expertise ranges from the representation of clients who have suffered whiplash type injuries resulting out of road traffic accidents, to those injured during the course of their employment, to those who have been left severely injured due to medical wrongdoing or malpractice.
Dean often acts for his clients under a "no win, no fee" agreement.
Dean understands the financial hardship that can sometimes occur when you are injured and unable to work due to no fault of your own. He will usually be able to secure an interim payment to reimburse lost earnings and will find the right therapies and treatment to help his clients return to work as soon as possible. He ensures he gets the maximum level of compensation for all of his clients.
Dean is a friendly and approachable professional and will go the extra mile for his clients. He understands that not all of his clients can travel due to their injuries and is happy to visit them at their homes.
What else he does
Dean keeps himself healthy and active, and can usually be found playing football or in the gym. You can often find him in the stands of Old Trafford cheering on his beloved Manchester United. When not keeping fit or attending football matches, Dean is normally taking his children to swimming, football and dancing classes!
Firaaz joined BPS in 2012 after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester.
Firaaz works closely with Jai Ramsahoye in the firm's insolvency and litigation department. He is a valued member of the firm's commercial litigation team and regularly advises clients on all things commercial covering both contentious and non-contentious areas of law.

Away from the desk, Firaaz regularly participates in football and snooker tournaments and is particularly passionate about fulfilling his travel bucket list.

Graham joined BPS in 2005.
Graham works within the firm's personal injury department and represents clients who have suffered injury as a result of a road traffic accident. Handling claims for injury compensation, treatment charges, loss of earnings, hire and recovery charges, and policy excess charges.
Graham is willing to work on a ‘No Win No Fee' basis. Graham's clients are not liable to pay any legal costs to BPS as all legal fees are recovered from the party at fault's Insurance Company. Graham is on hand by telephone or email to discuss any potential claim which you are considering pursuing. Graham will discuss with your the circumstances of your accident, the injuries you have sustained and the compensation you could potentially receive as a result of your accident enabling you to make an informed choice before you pursue a claim.
Graham is experienced in managing cases from negotiations with the party at fault's insurance company to representing his clients should the matter reach the Courts. Graham prides himself on the service he offers clients; installing confidence in his professionalism and drive for the best possible outcome.
Graham has experience in making application for interim lump sums payments which may ease his client's financial circumstances until they receive their final settlement payment.

Graham enjoys spending his weekends playing football. He regularly attends the gym and likes to keep himself fit.
Harry joined BPS in 1973. Harry became a Partner with the firm 1976 after completing his Articles with BPS. From being invested in the firm at a young age Harry became Senior Partner in 2001 and has since developed a successful commercial law firm.
Harry is Senior Partner to a professional, pro-active and successful team of lawyers. Harry is a firm believer that BPS's Partner led departments offer a level of service and expertise which is becoming extinct in the profession. Harry is well known for reminiscing on how the profession has changed over the years. Harry's desire is to continue and maintain the values of a traditional law firm.
As well as being Senior Partner to the firm Harry practises in Matrimonial law. In particular, he has detailed knowledge of complex and high net financial settlements, including matters relating to businesses, pensions, trusts, the hiding and disposition of assets and money held overseas. Harry has represented many high profile clients and has a reputation within the profession as being the divorce lawyer of choice for every high net worth case. He represents clients across the UK predominately dealing with highly complex cases bringing a commercial approach to achieving a settlement. Harry's experience and knowledge of the law and practical knowledge of business and finances allows him to provide clear and concise advice and develop successful solutions for cases other lawyers would shy away from.
Harry has practised Litigation for over 35 years and represents local, national and international companies. Harry and his team cover all aspects of Litigation in particular claims against insurance companies and insurance brokers.

Jai joined BPS in 2000 and has been a Partner with the firm since 2003.
Jai heads up a solid Commercial Litigation department who represent both Claimant and Defendant. With over 20 years' experience Jai and his dedicated team have the knowledge and experience to handle cases involving breach of contract, fraud, injunctions including Mareva freezing orders, commercial agents advice and disputes, professional negligence, shareholder disputes, drafting commercial documents, shareholder agreements and terms and conditions of sale and purchase. Representing both Claimant and Defendant cases gives Jai invaluable insights into their opponent's tactics.
Jai has practised in the Employment Law field for over 20 years. During that time Jai has represented local, national and international companies and individual claimants. Jai and his team cover all aspects of employment law including employment contracts, directors service contracts, negotiation of employee termination arrangements, advice on compromise agreements, employment related injunctions including Anton Pillar search and seize orders, restrictive covenant and confidentiality advice.
Jai has been appointed as Supervising Solicitor by High Court Judges to monitor the execution of search and seize orders by the Court. Within this role he reports to the Judge as to the manner and conduct of the search by the Claimant's solicitors and the cooperation received from the Defendant and their solicitors.
Jai also deals with contentious intellectual property, trademark/copyright infringement, Anton Pillar search and seize orders in intellectual property, and with bankruptcy and winding up petitions for both debtor and creditor.
Jai has represented a number of high profile clients and notable or reported cases include: -
Acting for the Claimant in obtaining a Mareva freezing order over the assets of the Defendant up to US$1.2million in respect of loans and other advances to the Defendant procured by fraud. Jai successfully obtained the necessary freezing order and negotiated a settlement requiring the Defendant to repay from the sale of properties which had been purchased using the Claimant's funds. Banet -v- Stradowski [2006]
Representing the Appellant (Mr Collier) in a case which reached the Court of Appeal. Jai successfully set aside a statutory demand served on Mr Collier by Wright Holdings. This case changed English Law setting a precedent that reliance by a debtor on promises by a creditor to pay a lesser sum than due by instalments can found a promissory estoppel. Collier -v- Wright Holdings UK Ltd [2007] EWCA Civ 1329

Karen joined BPS in 1993.
Karen works closely with Sefton Kwasnik in managing a successful Personal Injury department at BPS. Karen specialises in assisting victims of road traffic accidents, slipping and tripping accidents, accidents at work, criminal injuries compensation and medical negligence cases. Karen has experience handling cases of serious injury as well as less serious injuries such as whiplash.
Karen prides herself on the bespoke service she offers to her clients. Understanding the impact accidents can have upon a victim's life Karen ensures that each receives rehabilitation if necessary. She also works strenuously to ensure that each client recovers maximum compensation for their injuries and losses.
Karen has been involved in a number of high profile cases including the following: -
Representing a client who was involved in a gas explosion at work. Karen reached a compensation settlement for her client for the sum of £250,000.00.
Karen plays an active role in charity fundraising for Magen David Adom, Israel's only ambulance service. Magen David Adom sends medical teams all over the world to help save lives after people have been struck by disaster for example in Haiti, Pakistan and Turkey. A worthy charity very close to Karen's heart.

Khurram is a member of our employment team and has extensive experience of advising both employers and employees on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues arising throughout the employment relationship. This includes grievances, disciplinary procedures and redundancies. He also drafts employment contracts, staff handbooks and bespoke policies. Khurram frequently advises employees on unfair/constructive dismissal matters and has a particular interest in workplace discrimination issues. He also has a significant amount of experience in advising on and negotiating settlement agreements on behalf of departing employees.
Khurram regularly guides clients through the Employment Tribunal process. However, he appreciates the importance of taking a pragmatic approach to handling cases, exploring alternative dispute resolution where appropriate in order to achieve the best solution for his clients. He takes pride in his ability to seek positive, negotiated outcomes for clients who are involved in trying and time consuming employment disputes.

Sefton plays an active role in children's sporting events. Sefton is an Executive Committee Member of the South Manchester FC. Sefton can also be found umpiring and coming out of retirement to play cricket as well as a regular gym goer.

Stephen specialises in resolving issues arising from trust and probate disputes. He is regularly instructed by Executors and Trustees, by Beneficiaries, and even by disappointed family members in a wide range of issues including the validity of wills, Inheritance Act claims, the removal of Executors and fraud.
Stephen has a good understanding of the emotive issues that his work can raise, and prides himself on his sensitive but firm approach. Clients fully appreciate Stephen's results-driven outlook, and welcome the well-explained advice they receive from him.

When Stephen is not in the office he enjoys spending time with his two daughters taking them horse riding and to ballet lessons. Stephen also enjoys martial arts; entering Tae Kwon Do tournaments. He is both a qualified Jui Jitsu instructor and 4th Dan Black Belt. Stephen also plays the guitar in his spare time and is keen woodworker making professional quality pieces of furniture.

Susan joined BPS Law LLP in June 2018 as a Consultant Solicitor. She had been a Partner in a niche specialist personal injury practice for nearly 20 years before that firm closed.
Susan's expertise includes catastrophic personal injury cases with a very high value, in particular brain injury and amputation cases.
Susan has an empathetic manner towards clients and she strives for the very highest settlements in all of her cases.
Susan has recently been involved in the successful high profile case Edwards on behalf of the Estate of the late Thomas Arthur Watkins (Respondent) v. Hugh James Ford Simey Solicitors (Appellant) at The Supreme Court.
In Susan's spare time (which she admits is very little due to her three children) she likes to socialise with family and friends, read books and she enjoys horse riding.

Tony joined BPS Law in 2014 and has been working within the Contested Wills department since then as assistant and administrator to Stephen Rhodes and Clare Goss.
As a chartered architect, he has a keen eye for detail and has a built up a variety of skills and experiences that he has added to the betterment of the department, such as good interpersonal communications and understanding of client needs.
He is known as the "chaser" - ensuring that not only the defendants provide requested information on time, but also the client. This system operates successfully, albeit annoying for some parties! - and helps speed up the claim process to usually a quick conclusion.
