CLEARLEFT - Key Persons

Alex Edwards

Job Titles:
  • Design Strategist
Alex is laser-focused on stripping away the noise and giving users what they need. For her, design is all about distilling everything down to the core goal. Alex studied design at University of Reading, where there wasn't much of a digital focus but enough for her to get a taste for responsive design. During her studies she landed an internship here at Clearleft, and that's where Alex really got immersed in human-centred design. After graduation, Alex started as a UX designer in a digital agency, eventually leading a team there. After honing her skills for many years, she returned to Clearleft full time. Alex's background in visual design, typography, and front-end development allows her to consider all the angles of design decisions. And her experience in client services means she understands business goals as well as user needs. This special combination of people skills and attention to detail drives everything Alex does at Clearleft.

She was always more fascinated by the mechanical printing processes than the digital side of things. After graduating, she entered the world of events, designing everything from flyers to physical sets. That led her to the small world of window displays and dressing. From there she went on to film and television sets, project-managing their production.
