Aisha Abdallah

Aisha Abdallah heads the Disputes Resolution department at Anjarwalla & Khanna. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on fraud, economic crime and disputes over land, the environment and natural resources. Aisha is dual qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Solicitor of England and Wales. Aisha was appointed to the MARC Court in 2017, the ADR arm of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She is the lead author of the Kenyan chapter of the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th editions of the International Arbitration Review. She is also a member of the Africa Users Group for the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. Aisha is part of an expert team that has drafted Anti-Money Laundering, Remittances and Mobile Money Bills for Somaliland and is the lead author of the Kenya chapter of the 2018 Chambers Anti-Corruption Global Practice Guide. She is also the lead author of the ALN Anti-Corruption Guide 2019. Aisha provides training and writes and speaks on a wide range of contentious issues, including international arbitration, corruption, economic crime and pro bono work. Aisha is rated and recognised by both Chambers Global and Legal 500 for her work.

Alex Bevan

Alex Bevan is Shearman & Sterling's Global International Arbitration Practice Group Leader and Head of the Abu Dhabi office. He also leads the firm's Construction practice. Alex specializes in complex international arbitration proceedings arising out of construction and development projects, investments, acquisitions and joint ventures. These disputes arise in a range of industries, in particular infrastructure, power, oil and gas and telecoms. He also regularly serves as Arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings. Andrew Flower

Andrew Flower is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Paris. He has more than 25 years of experience in forensic accounting and in providing expert evidence in international arbitration (commercial and investor state). He has been listed as a leading expert witnesses in international arbitration in Europe by "Who's Who Legal," since inception of the list and is equally recognised as a Thought Leader in International Arbitration. Mr. Flower has provided expert evidence in arbitrations conducted under the auspices of institutions including ICC, ICDR, ICSID, DIAC, NAI, DIS, and under UNCITRAL rules. He has provided written evidence in over 150 disputes, and has testified and been cross-examined on his evidence before tribunals in New York, Washington DC, London, Paris, Stockholm, The Hague, Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, Singapore and Brisbane. Throughout his career, Mr. Flower has also provided advice to parties in post transaction disputes, both in connection with arbitrations and in the context of expert determinations. He acted both as an advisor to one of the parties and as the appointed determining expert. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Flower was the global head of the disputes practice in one of the Big Four accounting firms working out of their Paris, New York and London offices. Mr. Flower has also been appointed as an independent expert by the ICC Centre of Expertise and as a tribunal appointed expert in an ICC arbitration. Mr. Flower has also acted as mediator in a royalty dispute. In addition to his work in arbitration, Mr. Flower assisted Vivendi as a defendant in their long running class action suit in the New York Courts and has provided written expert evidence in matters before the English High Court. He was also one of the senior advisors to the Kuwait Government in the assessment of corporate claims for damages arising from the First Gulf War. Mr. Flower earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of York. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a native English and fluent French speaker. He was part of the expert faculty for the inaugural ROAP edition in 2020 and is part of the expert faculty for ROAP EMEA 2022.

Andrés Jana

Andrés Jana is founding partner at Chilean law firm Bofill Mir & Alvarez Jana. Between 1996 and 1998 he was the Director of Legal Studies of the Central Bank of Chile. He obtained his LL.M. from Harvard University and graduated summa cum laude from the Law School of the Universidad de Chile. He has vast experience as counsel, arbitrator and expert in international disputes involving commercial, investment and international public law issues, before the International Court of Justice, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), and several ad hoc tribunals; as well as domestic courts in different jurisdictions. Jana is the Chilean delegate before the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), where he participated in the revision and adoption of the UNCITRAL arbitration rules (2010, the rules of transparency in arbitrations between investors and states (2013) and currently chairs the work of the WG on Expedited Arbitration. He is on the Panel of Arbitrators for ICSID, a member of the Governing Board of ICCA, member of the Council of SIAC, member of the Latin American Arbitration Group of the ICC and founding member and former Vice-president of the Latin American Arbitration Association (ALARB), among others. A Professor of Law at Universidad de Chile since 1997, he regularly lectures and publishes on international disputes. Mr. Jana is the Co-Chair for the ROAP LatAm 2022 edition.

Ank Santens

Ank Santens is a partner in White & Case LLP's international arbitration group, based in New York. She serves as counsel or arbitrator in commercial, investment, and construction arbitrations around the world. She has been named a Thought Leader (Who's Who Legal Thought Leaders 2018), Most Highly Regarded Individual (Who's Who Legal Future Leaders 2017), Best in Commercial Arbitration (Euromoney's Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2016), and Global Rising Star of the Year (Euromoney's Global Arbitration Awards 2014). She is a Vice Chair of the IBA's Arbitration Committee, and serves on the Board of Directors of CPR and on the Executive Committee of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy (FIAA) and the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA). She was a member of the ICCA-Queen Mary Task Force on Third Party Funding. She frequently lectures and publishes on international arbitration topics. During her tenure as Chair, the CPR Arbitration Committee published "The CPR Corporate Counsel Manual for Cross-Border Dispute Resolution" (2017). Ms. Santens holds law degrees from Columbia University (NY) and Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), and studied one year at the law faculty of the University of Granada (Spain). She is a member of the New York bar and a Solicitor of England and Wales. Her working languages are English, French, Spanish and Flemish/Dutch.

Anthony Theau Laurent

Colin Johnson

Dr. Hassan Arab

Dr. Hassan Arab is the deputy managing partner and Co-Head of Litigation in Al Tamimi & Company. He is a leading expert in all aspects of civil, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Dr. Arab regularly sits as an arbitrator and advises on arbitration-related issues. He has extensive experience in providing expert opinions on the UAE laws before arbitration tribunals and foreign courts. He is on the panel of arbitrators for ICSID, ICC, SIAC, DIFC-LCIA, CRCICA, AIAC, DIAC and TAHKEEM. Dr Arab is a Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the ICC-UAE Commission on Arbitration and a member of the future Arbitration Court of the Casablanca International Mediation & Arbitration Centre. James Hosking

James Hosking is a founding partner of New York-based international dispute resolution boutique Chaffetz Lindsey where he leads the firm's international arbitration practice. In his 25-year career, James has been involved in more than 100 arbitrations as counsel, including proceedings under the ICC, AAA/ICDR, LCIA, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, CRCICA, WIPO, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules. His current cases involve disputes concerning construction/infrastructure projects, corporate acquisitions, energy/oil & gas projects, pharmaceuticals, licensing and distribution agreements, mining ventures and investment treaties. James's public international law practice has encompassed investor-state disputes, state-to-state arbitrations, advice on boundary issues and resource allocation, as well as work for multilateral organizations. James also regularly sits as an arbitrator, having been appointed to more than 40 tribunals, with experience as a sole arbitrator, presiding arbitrator, co-arbitrator and emergency arbitrator. Those disputes, seated around the world. have involved some 18 jurisdictions. James regularly writes and speaks on international arbitration. Since 2019, he has been selected as a "Global Elite Thought Leader" by Who's Who, one of only a handful of practitioners to hold the distinction. Jose Daniel Amado

Jose Daniel Amado is the founding partner of Miranda & Amado in Lima, Peru. Mr Amado graduated with greatest honors from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, where he has taught domestic and international arbitration for the last two decades. He holds an LLM from Harvard University, where was awarded the Laylin Prize of international law. As counsel, Mr Amado has participated in many of the largest business transactions and commercial and investment disputes involving Peru in the last few decades. In 2009, Latin Lawyer magazine named Mr Amado as its Law Firm Leader of the Year. Mr Amado has also served in various capacities within the Government of Peru, including as deputy to the prime minister and chief of advisors to the council of ministers. Mr Amado regularly sits as an arbitrator in Peru and other venues, and has been a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Lima Chamber of Commerce. In recent years, Mr Amado has been a Visiting Fellow and a Visiting Scholar at the Lauterpacht Centre of International Law and the University of Cambridge's Centre for Latin American studies. May Tai is the Managing Partner, Asia, at Herbert Smith Freehills. She specialises in cross-border China-related and regional Asian disputes, as well as contentious regulatory matters. She regularly advises governments, government-owned entities and commercial clients (including financial institutions and energy companies) in Asia, Europe and the United States, including acting as counsel and advocate in arbitrations under various rules and court proceedings. She has acted as arbitrator in SIAC and HKIAC proceedings, and has also sat as an Emergency Arbitrator under the ICC Rules. May speaks five languages fluently, including Bahasa (Malaysian and Indonesian), Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English. Nadia Darwazeh

Nadia Darwazeh has over twenty years of experience acting as counsel and sitting as arbitrator in commercial and investor-state arbitrations covering numerous applicable laws and seats of arbitration. Before joining Clyde & Co, Nadia practiced in the International Arbitration Groups of leading international law firms based in Paris, Frankfurt and London. She also spent five years in Shanghai, where her practice focused on acting as counsel in disputes under the major regional arbitration rules including SIAC, HKIAC and CIETAC. Nadia also has deep ICC expertise, having led the Europe, Middle East, Africa team at the ICC for a period of three years, during which she oversaw more than 400 ICC arbitrations. Nadia was awarded the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) Prize for Advocacy in International Commercial Arbitration in 2022, a prize awarded every two years to a chosen individual with "exceptional talents in advocacy". Neil Kaplan

Neil Kaplan has been a full-time practising arbitrator since 1995. He has been involved in several hundred arbitrations as arbitrator. Called to the Bar of England in 1965, Mr. Kaplan has practiced as a barrister, Principal Crown Counsel at the Hong Kong Attorney General's Chambers, and served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong in charge of the Arbitration List. He was Chair of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) for 13 years and President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in 1999/2000. Since 2017 he has been the President of the Court of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arbitration and Mediation Centre (MARC).

Paul Werné

Paul Werné is an independent business consultant focussing on business developments in Africa and the Middle East. Paul has been working as Legal or General Counsel for major international groups, mainly in the field of telecommunications. After spending many years in the Orange - France Telecom group, successively as General Counsel for its Directory and Advertising, then its Satellite Transmission and Broadcast line of business, and finally as General Counsel for the group's non-European operations, he moved to the Middle East where he held the position of Group General Counsel of the United Arab Emirates' national telecommunications operator, Etisalat, for 8 years, during which Etisalat substantially updated and enhanced its strategy, increased its global reach and ambitiously developed new technologies and activities. Paul has extensive experience in creating, reorganising and managing international legal teams, in mergers and acquisitions, company law, corporate governance and dispute resolution.

Philip Dunham

Philip Dunham has concentrated his practice in international arbitration since 1992. His principal activity has been acting as counsel in numerous commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, whether ad hoc (including under the UNCITRAL Rules), or under the rules of the ICC, the LCIA, the SCC, or ICSID. Mr. Dunham has particular experience advising on construction and engineering disputes covering a broad range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. Mr. Dunham also has extensive experience handling joint venture, oil & gas, energy, and military procurement disputes in respect of which he has regularly acted for and against state entities. Mr. Dunham has also served as arbitrator (including as an emergency arbitrator) in several significant arbitrations. Mr. Dunham is a regular speaker at various conferences and seminars on international arbitration in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has also published numerous articles on international arbitration. Mr. Dunham is admitted to England and Wales Bar and registered as a Foreign Lawyer at the Paris Bar. He is fluent in English and French. Mr. Dunham was part of the faculty for the inaugural ROAP edition in 2020 and is the Co-Chair for the ROAP EMEA 2022 edition.

Prof. David D. Caron

Prof. David D. Caron served as a Member of the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, until his passing in February 2018; he also served as a Judge ad hoc on the International Court of Justice. He was previously the Dean of the Dickson Poon School of Law of King's College London and, until his passing, was a member of the faculty. Prof. Caron was a member of the court of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Institut de Droit International and the Board of Editors of the American Journal of International Law. He was further a member of Chambers at 20 Essex Street and a Bencher of Inner Temple. He was formerly the C. William Maxeiner Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of California, at Berkeley, and had served as the President of the American Society of International Law from 2010 to 2012. Prof. Caron received his Doctorate in Law from the University of Leiden. Prof. Caron was the dedicatee of the inaugural edition of Delos's Remote Oral Advocacy Programme (ROAP), which took place in 2020 (see, further, here and here). Prof. Maxi Scherer

Prof. Maxi Scherer is Special Counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and regularly sits as arbitrator. She also holds the Chair for International Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Energy Law at Queen Mary, University of London, and is Queen Mary's Director of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies in Paris and of the LLM in Paris programme. Prof. Scherer further acts as the General Editor of the Kluwer Journal of International Arbitration. In addition, Prof. Scherer chairs the Delos Guide to Arbitration Places (GAP). She was previously Global Professor of Law at NYU Law School, Visiting Professor at SciencesPo Law School Paris and Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown Centre of Transnational Legal Studies.

Prof. Pierre Mayer

Prof. Pierre Mayer is a founding partner of Mayer Greenberg. He acts as an independent arbitrator and occasionally as counsel. He was previously a partner at Dechert, after having spent many years as counsel at Coudert Brothers and Clifford Chance. He was formerly the President of the International Academy for Arbitration Law, the President of the French Committee on International Private Law, the President of the Committee on International Commercial Arbitration of the International Law Association (ILA) and the President of the Committee on Private International Law of the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA). Prof. Mayer also taught arbitration, international law and contract law for close to 30 years at the University Paris-I Panthéon Sorbonne. Reza Mohtashami

Reza Mohtashami KC is a partner in the London office of Three Crowns. He has represented clients as counsel and advocate in more than 80 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions. Reza has particular expertise in disputes arising in emerging markets with a focus on the telecoms, energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to Three Crowns he worked in the arbitration practice of a leading international arbitration firm where he established and led the firm's global arbitration practice in the Middle East. Reza is a Vice-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee, trustee of the DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre, a trustee of the BCDR-AAA, and editorial board member of the ICC Dispute Resolution Bulletin and Global Arbitration Review. He is the immediate past president of the LCIA Arab Users' Council. Reza is a qualified English solicitor-advocate and was appointed Queen's Counsel in recognition of his advocacy skills in 2018. He is recognised as a Thought Leader in arbitration by Who Who's Legal with Chambers and Partners describing him as "very capable, intelligent and hard-working" and the "real deal." Roland Ziadé

Roland Ziadé is the Global Co-Head of International Arbitration at Linklaters and a member of the Paris, New York and Beirut Bars. He acts as counsel in both commercial and investment arbitration cases and has acted as arbitrator in over 50 arbitral proceedings. Roland is the current President of ICC-France Committee on the selection and appointment of arbitrators and was a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for 9 years (2009-2018). He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy (FIAA), the Bureau of the French Arbitration Committee (CFA), the Executive Committee of the Harvard Club of France, as well as various arbitral organizations and working groups. Sandra González

Sandra González chairs FERRERE's Dispute Resolution practice in its offices in Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. She represents clients in a wide range of industries in commercial and investment arbitration under several arbitration rules and institutions. She has recently represented clients in construction, oil & gas, ports, mining and regulated markets cases. Sandra González also sits as arbitrator; she has arbitrated cases under different applicable laws, seats and institutions on infrastructure projects, M&A and construction. Ms. González is Uruguay's alternate member to the ICC Arbitration Court, a member of the Observatory on the Status of Arbitration of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Arbitraje (ALARB), vicechair of the Capítulo Rioplatense of the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEA) and founding member and member of the Executive Committee of WWA - Women Way in Arbitration LATAM. Sofia Martins

Sofia Martins heads the disputes practice at Miranda & Associados. She sits on the board of the Portuguese Arbitration Association since 2014. She has also been an officer of the IBA Arbitration Committee and co-editor of the IBA International Arbitration Guide since March 2017 and is a member of the ICC Arbitration and ADR Committee. In July 2020 she was appointed to chair the board of the arbitration Center of Concórdia. Toby Landau

Toby Landau QC is a barrister and arbitrator, and a member of the Bars of England & Wales, Singapore, New York, the BVI and Northern Ireland, and is registered in the DIFC. He was the first QC to be admitted as a full member of the Singapore Bar, and practices from Duxton Hill Chambers in Singapore and as a Sole Practitioner in London. As Counsel, he has argued hundreds of major international commercial and investor-State arbitrations, as well as many ground-breaking arbitration cases in the Courts of England, Singapore, Pakistan and the Caribbean. As Arbitrator, he has extensive experience sitting in commercial and investor-State disputes worldwide. Valeria Galíndez

Valeria Galíndez, a dual national of Brazil and Argentina, has focused her practice on arbitration since 2001. She founded Galíndez Arb in 2019, after having worked in some of the most prestigious Brazilian and international firms in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Valeria has acted as counsel in more than 50 cases and as arbitrator in over 65 proceedings. She has been particularly active in commercial cases involving construction, energy (including eolic and solar energy), joint ventures and corporate acquisition matters.
