Owen Hutchison

Owen Hutchison is an independent consulting arborist. He holds a land-based degree from the University of Plymouth (Seale Hayne Agricultural College), the Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture and is a LANTRA qualified professional tree inspector. He is a professional member of the Arboricultural Association, an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and is a member of the Royal Forestry Society. Owen has been involved in land management since graduating in 2004. He began work as a hands-on arborist in 2007, working as a climbing arborist and site foremen for a number of companies, including two Arboricultural Association approved contractors. On completion of the Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture in 2013, Owen began work as a consulting arborist. Between 2015 and 2017 he worked as a technical specifier for Geosynthetics Ltd (Cellweb Tree Root Protection). During which time, he advised local authorities, architects and consulting engineers on the design and construction of ‘no-dig' subbase solutions, within tree root protection areas. Since 2016 he has practiced as an independent consulting arborist and in association with B.J Unwin Forestry Consultancy and Fulford-Dobson Associates. This has involved the provision of a wide range of arboricultural consultancy services to a wide range of clients, from individual tree owners to large corporate organisations and charities.
