Allen Powell

Allen Powell is the Executive Vice President of Subscription Services Division (SSD), GOBI & Operations at EBSCO Information Services (EIS). Mr. Powell manages the operational and financial units for the Subscription Services Division, GOBI Library Services Division, and he also oversees the operational and financial functions for EBSCO's worldwide network of regional offices. The offices support all business lines including database, discovery, and eBook products and books, subscriptions and ePackage services. Prior to joining EBSCO, Mr. Powell worked as a CPA at the international accounting firm Ernst & Young. He joined EBSCO in January 1991 and was named CFO of EBSCO Subscription Services (ESS) in 1994 and Vice President of EBSCO Industries, Inc. in 1996. Mr. Powell became President of the Subscription Services Division in 2004. In 2016, his role was expanded as he was named Executive Vice President of Operations and Finance for EBSCO Information Services. Mr. Powell has extensive operational and financial experience in the information services industry, leading both customer and publisher-facing areas. He has authored several articles on serials pricing, budgeting and spending trends and spoken at several conferences, such as the North American Serials Group (NASIG) Annual Conference and the University of Oklahoma Libraries Association Conference. Mr. Powell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Samford University, where he played college baseball. Allen serves as a Board Member for the Greater Alabama Council Boy Scouts of America and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Alabama. He lives in Birmingham with his wife Lynne and has a son in college and a daughter who recently graduated college.

Betsy Jones

Betsy Jones is Executive Vice President of EBSCO Clinical Decisions, a part of EBSCO Information Services that provides clinical decision support solutions, healthcare business intelligence, medical journals, medical e-books and medical reference information for the healthcare industry. She oversees both the EBSCO Clinical Decisions Product Management department and the Medical Editorial Teams of clinical reference tools such as DynaMed Plus and CINAHL. Ms. Jones is a leader in the healthcare publishing industry and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Publisher at the American Medical Association. She brings a wealth of experience in clinical information, content expertise and industry knowledge to EBSCO.

Bowen Thagard

Bowen Thagard is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance, Americas, for the Subscription Services Division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS). Since joining EBSCO in 2007, he has held several operational and financial leadership roles across the company's domestic and international regions. Prior to joining EBSCO, Bowen spent eight years in Atlanta where he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and The Home Depot. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in Management Information Systems and earned a Master of Business Administration from Emory University's Goizueta Business School. Bowen is a board member at McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Alabama, a member of the Birmingham Downtown Kiwanis Club and a former Dean's Advisory Board member for Auburn University's Harbert College of Business. Bowen lives in Birmingham with his wife and two daughters.

Danielle Borasky is the Vice President of NoveList, a division of EBSCO Information Services. NoveList has been helping readers find their next favorite book for more than 20 years, and continues to develop innovative solutions for connecting readers, books, and libraries. NoveList is located in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to joining NoveList in 2011, she gained broad experience in the library industry through her work in many different settings including academic, special, and public libraries. Danielle holds a Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science.

Doug Jenkins - CIO, EVP

Doug Jenkins is EVP CIO for EBSCO Information Services. In this role, he is responsible for all technology management at EIS including software product development teams, information service delivery, platform product management, information privacy and security, architecture, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives. Since joining EBSCO in 2006, Jenkins has led software development of an EIS suite of products including EBSCO host, EBSCO Discovery Service, FOLIO, and DynaMed. He championed the company's use of Lean principles and the introduction of Agile software development methods with associated enterprise change management. Jenkins began his career at GE in 1982 as a member of the Manufacturing Management Program. He held several engineering and Lean operations leadership positions within GE Aircraft Engines including engineering lead for Manufacturing Cell Controller systems and Manager, Factory Automation. Jenkins received the Edward Woll Young Engineer Award and is a graduate of GE's Advanced Course in Manufacturing. In 1992, Jenkins joined Information Access Company (IAC) as VP Product Technology and led InfoTrac product development. There his team launched SearchBank among other industry-first product introductions. In 1994 IAC was acquired by Thomson and merged with Gale Research to become the Gale Group. Cengage acquired Gale in 2007. In 1999, Jenkins joined Books24x7, a venture-backed startup focused on creating digital book collections for the corporate market. As CTO, he led engineering innovations on content normalization, XML-based repositories, API-based partner integrations, and search algorithms while participating in the early-stage company's sales, partnerships, and funding efforts. The US patent for this work is cited by over 70 leading companies. In 2001, Skillsoft acquired Books24x7. Jenkins holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and ME in Manufacturing Engineering - CAD/CAM Systems from Boston University. He resides in the Boston area.

Gar Sydnor

Gar Sydnor is responsible for strategically planning, building and launching new EBSCO business offerings, which include Aperto powered by FOLIO, analytics services and related library software systems. Gar joined EBSCO in 1994 and was part of the EBSCO team that launched EBSCO host online service in the 1990s. He later served as Senior Vice President at The Library Corporation and was heavily involved in its strategic direction and growth, helping to launch several library systems and lean business startups. Today, he oversees the global rollout and growth of the Aperto library system platform, powered by FOLIO, and related open source service offerings. Gar is a former public library board member and frequent speaker in the library market, highlighting ways to implement and integrate the latest technologies into libraries to produce better user experiences and valuable outcomes to staff, students and library patrons. He is a strong advocate of lean business methodologies for delivering practical, measurable innovation to libraries and institutions.

Jay Mark joined EBSCO Information Services (EIS) in May 2018 as the Executive Vice President of Strategy, Finance, Planning & Operations. Mr. Mark manages the strategic planning processes for EIS which include financial planning and analysis, accounting and order management, lean portfolio management, long-range strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Mark joined EIS from Converse, Inc., where he held numerous positions, most recently overseeing global business planning and revenue/margin management from 2014 to 2018. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mark held finance and planning positions at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Capital One and TBG Financial. Mr. Mark completed his bachelor's degree in Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond and earned his MBA from Pepperdine University. Jay serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for The Community House of Hamilton & Wenham and lives on the North Shore of Boston with his wife and three children.

Kim Stam - Chief Legal Officer, SVP

Kim Stam is the Senior Vice President/Chief Legal Officer for EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO). Ms. Stam is responsible for legal matters pertaining to EBSCO including overseeing all license agreements with customers, as well as all contracts with publishers and other partners. Kim received her Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1990 and then her Doctor of Law, summa cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 1995. In 1999, she began her career at EBSCO and has been heavily involved with content licensing, rights management, content management and copyright issues. Prior to that Ms. Stam worked as a litigation associate at Shearman & Sterling in New York City and at DeBrauw Blackstone Westbroek in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Ms. Stam is based at EBSCO Information Services' International Headquarters in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Kristin Delwo

Kristin joined EBSCO Information Services in early 2019 when her company, Stacks Inc., was acquired by EBSCO. Ms. Delwo now serves as Vice President, SaaS Product & Technology Innovation at EIS and is responsible for EBSCO operations at the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada office, where the focus is experience innovation. Ms. Delwo brings a wealth of library industry expertise to EBSCO, having both managed a library of her own and having served as a systems administrator for a large multi-type consortium. Before joining EBSCO, Kristin also operated a successful full-service software consultancy business and founded Stacks, which was awarded Platinum Distinction at the 2018 Modern Library Awards, delivering industry-leading, integrated digital experiences to libraries of all types worldwide. Melissa D'Amato

Sam is a member of the steering committees for all major content and technology initiatives for the company, and is also the chief architect of EBSCO's twenty-one advisory boards and numerous focus groups. Mr. Brooks has visited universities in more than 90 countries and has worked extensively with ministries of education, science and technology, and culture in developing nations to expand access to information. Sam is a member of the Board of Directors of the Open Library Foundation. The Open Library Foundation assists and facilitates educational organizations, foundations, partnerships and commercial entities in collaborating to foster, develop and sustain open technologies and innovation to support libraries, learning, research and teaching. In 1983, Mr. Collins co-founded a company specializing in indexing and abstracting of periodical information, which was subsequently purchased by EBSCO Industries, Inc. He has overseen the explosive growth that has taken EBSCO from a niche provider of print indexes in the 1980s to what it is today - one of the world's most important for-fee Internet research services. He has guided the company to very strong organic growth, combined with a steady stream of more than 60 strategic acquisitions.
