Andy started his career as a Quantity Surveyor before joining HLSmith in 1992. He was appointed to the main board of HLSmith in 2000 and became a stakeholder as part of the management team buyout in 2006. Andy has worked across all parts of the Group and now leads OAG where he has been Managing director since 2002.

Chris Lainsbury

Chris has over 35 years within the façade industry, starting out as a trainee draughtman with a curtain wall company, before working for the largest Schuco dealer in the UK. He spent a few years in Hong Kong and the United States, before returning to the UK to work in the specialist façade and glazed roof sector. Chris worked as a Senior Project Manager/Team Leader at OAG for 10 years before becoming a Divisional Director, heading up some of OAG's landmark projects , including JP Morgan and Aviva. Chris was appointed Divisional Director with OAG in 2018, heading up the operations for OAG Select.

Gary has been with OAG since 1997, becoming a Group Board member in 2006. He helped expand the Optima business in 2007 to the Middle East and later in Asia Pacific, servicing customers in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia and India. As Group Director, he has been involved in working on some of the most iconic structures in the UK, including London Bridge Station and Battersea Power Station. He also helped form OAG Select, our small works division which has been a fantastic success.

James Batchelor

James joined the Optima group in 1999, having spent over 10 years working in glazing and façade design. As Design Director, he oversees the design and engineering team, providing pre-contract technical advice and remains close to projects throughout their lifecycle. Over 20 years, James has worked on some of the most iconic buildings, including 60 Victoria Embankment, St Pancras station, the O2 headquarters in Slough and Embankment Place (to name just a few).

Jason Cowlard - Chief Commercial Officer

As Commercial Director, Jason leads our team of Quantity Surveyors, managing all financial matters and contracts for the business. He joined OAG in 2006 as Quantity Surveyor, before progressing to Financial Manager in 2012 and Commercial Director in 2017 with a focus on procurement and supply chain sustainability. Prior to joining OAG in 2006, Jason was an estimator within the rain screen cladding sector.

He has held a number of positions within the business, including Commercial Manager, Director of the Drywall Division where he oversaw the delivery of Heathrow Terminal 2B. He is now a Divisional Director of OAG Select and is responsible for overseeing the Pre-Contracts team including sales and estimating, helping build and maintain client relationships.

Background Rob joined OAG as part of our graduate/apprentice scheme after he graduated in 2005. During his first year, he spent time in each of the main disciplines, estimating, design, project and commercial management. He chose to remain in the commercial department where he undertook a postgraduate course in Quantity Surveying. Rob briefly left OAG to work for two international façade companies but returned in 2017 as an Operations Director for Major Projects, where he has overall responsibility for delivering projects.
