DIgSILENT GmbH, based in Gomaringen near Tübingen, goes back to the "Ingenieurbüro für Kybernetik in der Energieversorgung" (Engineering Office for Cybernetics in Energy Supply) founded by Martin Schmieg in 1985, which was transformed into DIgSILENT GmbH in 1997. The company is privately owned. In 2002, DIgSILENT moved its headquarters to the UNIPRO industrial park in Gomaringen. Due to successful growth, the building was expanded in 2011, doubling its capacity.
