Blackwell & Denton was founded in 1973 by Bill Blackwell and Mike Denton initially selling Vacuum cleaners door to door, and then progressing to a retail premises in Colliergate in the heart of York city center to demonstrate their wares. As demand grew for reliable machines and their reputation became well known, the company expanded to include suppling spares. The company then grew even more as they offered fitting and repair services for vacuums and eventually all household electrical goods.
