Gina Lawson Egan is a talented ceramic artist who came to the Pomona Valley to study with Paul Soldner at the Claremont Graduate School. She worked with Denis O'Connor in the Millard Sheets Studio and has taught at a number of local schools (currently at Cal Poly Pomona). From her studio in her vintage Ontario home, Lawson Egan has produced a dynamic body of work with a personal surrealist sensibility. The interview, conducted in her home, backyard studio and gallery space, provides insight into her sensibility, creative process, and attitudes toward teaching and selling her art. Narration by Dr. Wendy Slatkin examines a select group of Lawson Egan's sculptures and provides context in Surrealism and the specific iconography of Louise Bourgeois. Environmental portraits by Cindy Dillingham provide additional insight.
