Mark is a Consultant Urologist with 20 years of experience in Urological Surgery.
He graduated form the University of Adelaide in 1990 and has completed surgical training in Urology in Adelaide in 2000.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and member of the Urological Society of Australasia and has been a board member of that organisation. In his current position he is a teacher & mentor for local and overseas trainees and surgeons. He is also a member of the European Association of Urology and the Urological Association of Asia. He undertook overseas training in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery - these together with laser surgery for stones and prostatic surgery are his areas of interest. He also has an interest in functional urology, voiding dysfunction & urinary incontinence.
He is a senior lecturer with the university of Adelaide.
He works at Ashford Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Central Adelaide Local Health Network , Burnside Hospital Tennyson Day Surgery and Mount Gambier.

Nick sees all adult urology problems in men and women and is keen to provide a service that is local to patients at Glenelg and the Western, Northern and Southern seaboard of Adelaide.
Day surgery includes vasectomy, cystoscopy, circumcision, minimally invasive procedures for enlarged prostate (we will soon be introducing Urolift and Rezum at Glenelg Day Surgery), biopsies for prostate cancer diagnosis, investigation for bleeding in the urine and for urinary tract infection (cystitis) and urodynamic investigation.
Nick has been a consultant for 12 years and has wide experience of all adult urology problems. For major surgery, this can be undertaken at Ashford or Calvary hospitals, both of which have a DaVinci Xi robot. Nick is happy to see insured or uninsured patients - if you do not have private health cover and you need a procedure, this can be done for you at either the RAH or the QEH. He works as a Urologist in both the public and private sector.
Louise, our urology nurse consultant, works alongside Nick and is able to provide patients with all the help and support they may need.
A/Prof Nick Brook is a consultant urologist with private practice at Calvary North Adelaide and Ashford Hospitals. Nick consults at North Adelaide, the Hills, and the South Coast, and undertakes Day Case lists at Glenelg and Seaford. He is Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide & was senior staff specialist for 14 years at RAH.
Nick undertook a urological cancer fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane from 2008-2009, and was appointed as a consultant in Adelaide in 2009. He holds Fellowships of both the UK (FRCS Urol) and Australasian (FRACS Urol) Colleges of Surgeons, a Doctor of Medicine higher degree by research (MD) and has extensive basic science training (Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees).
He is trained in all aspects of adult urology and has a special interest in urological cancers. He has wide experience in the management of prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancer, including minimally invasive robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer. Nick recently spent a six-month, full-time sabbatical clinical fellowship in Europe undertaking advanced robotic prostate and kidney surgery.
Nick is also a high-volume robotic and open cancer surgeon, and performs brachytherapy for prostate cancer, so is able to offer patients all current options for urology cancer treatment.
His research interests encompass novel treatments for prostate and kidney cancer, and he was the lead urologist on a number of clinical trials based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, was the Director of Urological Cancer at the RAH Urology department, and was Chair of the urological cancer multidisciplinary team there.
