Starting nursery school can be a difficult time for a young child and their family. We make every effort to ensure this is a smooth and positive process. Equally, the transition from nursery to reception class is carefully planned. As the year progresses, nursery classes are taken into the main school for special occasions or joint activities with the reception class... Kirton Nursery School supports the entitlement to 15 hours free Early Years provision for 3 and 4 year olds. Universal free provision for 15 hours per week, for a minimum of 38 weeks per year, is available from the term following the child's third birthday, until they reach compulsory school age... Kirton Nursery offers far more than these basic requirements. The curriculum is enriched for the children by taking them out into the village as well as further afield, and by bringing visitors in to share their expertise and experiences.
