LIFETREK - Key Persons

Dr. Elspeth Schwenk

I am an independent counsellor/psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer based in Wiltshire, where I specialise in practitioner supervision and professional development and wellbeing for therapists and the ongoing expansion of supervision through training and development. I have worked alongside colleagues to introduce supervision to the practice of Outdoor and Adventure therapy and am currently exploring social and horticultural therapy here at Longview. I have developed and delivered a range of bespoke training over many years from local to university level, often presenting at Conferences both in the UK and abroad. Currently a University External Examiner, I also offer consultant support for counselling agencies. I am a senior, accredited counsellor and supervisor and Fellow with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have served in several leadership roles with BACP over 15 years: Initially elected to the BACP Workplace Executive, and then to BACP's Board of Governors, and finally becoming Deputy Chair of the Association until 2016. With a keen eye to the transition and changes of life, I recognise the hidden potential within each new chapter. Developing My Next Chapter here at Longview is an embodiment of that concept for growth and new ideas and I am excited to be working with Gil on the edge of this new phase in our own lives and to support other people as they envision and formulate their own exciting adventure.
