Claire Luby-Colton, Development Coordinator at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio (PBPO), focuses on securing the financial resources the organization needs to facilitate its programming in the community. Claire enjoys working alongside PBPO's generous corporate, foundation, and individual supporters to help strengthen the organization's nonprofit clients. Claire has focused her career on nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining PBPO, Claire served as the Director of External Relations for St. Vincent de Paul - Cincinnati (SVDP), the region's largest provider of basic needs assistance. In this capacity, she led a team of eight focused on communications, marketing, and fundraising over $6MM annually. Claire served at SVDP in development roles of increasing responsibility for nine years. Earlier in her career, Claire led the development efforts for the Alpaugh Family Economics Center, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the University of Cincinnati. Claire earned her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from The Ohio State University. She also credits her time serving as an AmeriCorps member and volunteering as an English teacher in Rwanda as formative experiences.

Erin Cunniff Childs - CEO, President

Erin was hired as the Executive Director of Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio when it was founded in 2014. She is responsible for advancing the mission of PBPO and leading the staff and legal programs. Erin sets strategy, recruits volunteer attorneys, promotes client outreach and education, and lectures about nonprofit and tax-exempt organization law. Prior to joining PBPO, Erin was an attorney with Thompson Hine in Cincinnati. While in private practice, Erin's pro bono work included volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for ProKids. Additionally, Erin is active in the Cincinnati Bar, having serving on the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation and as former chair of the Young Lawyer's Section. Erin is currently on the executive committee of the Nonprofit Law Committee. Erin graduated from Saint Louis University and received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Erin Starkey

Erin Starkey, Staff Attorney, coordinates and serves as a resource to PBPO's attorney volunteers and nonprofit clients in addition to providing direct legal services. Erin began her career at Dinsmore & Shohl and then stepped away from the paid workforce, where she embraced volunteerism while providing business and legal advice to local nonprofits. Erin served on the boards of Cincinnati Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA), Indian Hill Parent Teacher Organization, Junior League of Cincinnati and Cotillion Club of Cincinnati. She has been active as a volunteer leader with Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Aquatic Club and Kings Hammer FC. Erin is especially proud of her efforts in launching two thriving nonprofits, MindPeace and CAPA, which fill gaps in programming for underserved communities in our area. Erin graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati and also received her law degree from UC, where she served on the editorial board of the law review. Grateful for the opportunity to combine her legal background and volunteer experiences, Erin brings her nonprofit expertise to enhance the mission-driven work of PBPO's clients.

Suzanne Beck

Suzanne Beck, Dayton Counsel, has over 20 years of experience as an attorney. Her diverse legal and professional experience provides a broad and solid base to serve as a resource to PBPO's clients and attorney volunteers. Prior to joining PBPO, Suzanne worked in the drug development industry as an attorney specializing in contracts and proposals. She also worked with private law firms in the areas of family law, immigration, product liability, and general business. Before attending law school Suzanne attended graduate school in public health and focused on state regulation of private industry. Suzanne volunteers with the University of Dayton's Bar Passage Program; and is an active volunteer with many other organizations including P.E.O., devoted to supporting and funding women's education; and a local woman's educational and philanthropic club. She is a member of the Dayton and Cincinnati Bar Associations. Suzanne graduated from DePauw University, received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and received an M.P.H. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Veronica Tollefson

Veronica Tollefson, Manager of Program Operations at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, uses her passion for community service and nonprofit work to strengthen PBPO's outreach and operations. She actively seeks opportunities for PBPO to connect and collaborate with the nonprofit community and works with nonprofits as they apply to become our clients. Veronica also coordinates PBPO's events and educational programming, in addition to managing various aspects of PBPO's operations. While she joined PBPO as Program Coordinator in 2015, Veronica began her career in the nonprofit field over two decades ago working in refugee resettlement in Baton Rouge, LA at Catholic Charities. Since then, her work and personal volunteer experiences have ranged from HIV/AIDS education at the American Red Cross, grant-writing for Cancer Care of NJ to coordinating a canned food drive and giving tree at her children's elementary school. Veronica graduated from the University of Virginia and received her Master of Public Administration, with a focus on nonprofit organization management, from Seton Hall University. Veronica has a strong belief that nonprofit organizations with solid processes in place are best able to fulfill their mission and serve our community.
