PROMAR

PROMAR aims to reduce waste streams, namely plastic packaging and single-use plastics, entering the Caribbean Sea while promoting Circular Economy solutions in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Colombia, British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname... As many as 200,000 pieces of plastic have been detected per square kilometer on the coastline of the north-eastern Caribbean. The majority of the plastic waste originates from Caribbean countries and northern waters. Therefore, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) is choosing to fund the "PROMAR" project.
