Barbara Silva - COO

Upon returning to work after the birth of her daughter in 2010, Barbara started her career as an Administrative Assistant with Northeast Financial Network. Barbara's passion for the industry led her to work in many capacities for the greater firm. Before joining Mike's team as his executive assistant, she was the assistant Vice President of the New Business department and built a strong relationship with Mike and his clients. With her dedication, experience, and the client's best interest in mind, Barbara was a two time recipient of Northeast Financial Network's Diamond Award for outstanding service. This prestigious award recognizes the firm's top staff for their hard work, positive attitude, and value they provide to their team, advisors, clients, and company as a whole. As her career advanced, Barbara was looking to gain further knowledge and experience, so she thought it would be a natural fit to join Mike's team as they share the same philosophies. In 2019, she transitioned from her firm role to directly work as Mike's executive assistant. Over the years working as part of Mike's team, she has gained a passion for helping people achieve financial success. With the launch of Schwartz Planning Group, Barbara continues to expand her capabilities, continuing to support Mike and the team, as well as becoming the SPG's office manager and COO. Outside of the office, Barbara enjoys attending her daughter's soccer games, watching her son's band play at local venues, and tackling home renovations. She is also an avid lover of all animals.

David Greenberg

David Greenberg is the President and Founder of Integrated Planning Concepts, located in Livingston, NJ. Since 2004, David has established himself as a leader in the insurance and financial planning industry. His passion is rooted in supporting his clients in making the most powerful financial decisions possible, while first focusing on protecting them from the various threats that could derail them from achieving their goals and dreams. His work is centered on increasing economic confidence and confidence for his clients. David believes the most important aspects of his business are having integrity, providing outstanding service, and always doing what is in the interests of his clients. David has received his CLTC designation (Certification in Long Term Care Planning), and is an authorized user of The Living Balance Sheet® online Financial Organization System. He is a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), and has spoken at various industry events in an effort to provide insight and education to other advisors. David has also served as President of his local Business Networking International chapter, was the Master of Ceremonies and Chairman of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce's largest recurring event, and now serves as an Ambassador of that organization, a privilege reserved for only 2% of its membership. David graduated Suma Cum Laude from The George Washington University in Washington, DC with a degree in Finance and was awarded the university's prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award. He resides in Warren, NJ, is married to his wonderful wife Stephanie, and is the proud parent of Madison, Jake and Benjamin. He is also an avid runner and is proud to have completed the 2009 New York City Marathon.

Lee J. Newman - Managing Director

Upon graduating from Philadelphia University in 2012 with a degree in architecture, Lee started his career in the design build world for a brief period of time, before emigrating to the U.K. After working for a design company for 3 years, he and his partner had an opportunity to return home to New Jersey. While working for another design firm, Lee was introduced to Northeast Financial Network first as a client and due to his love for their philosophy, coaching, and financial education, sought out an advisor role to start his practice. Lee was placed on Mike's team and had the opportunity to learn from a top advisor from his first day. He spent his first years traveling around the country providing educational workshops for residents, fellows, and nursing programs, which helped build his network leading to recognition within Northeast Financial Network as a leaders club producer, as well as becoming a Managing Director for the Boston office. Outside of the firm, Lee spends as much of his time with his partner, Annie, and his dog, Darla, living a quiet, low-key life in North Jersey.

Michael Schwartz - Founder, President

Mike has been recognized many times for his work and experience. He has earned firm level and national awards for the quality of his client service and has achieved the highest levels of recognition in his field. Since 2014, he has been a part of his firm's mentoring team and faculty, helping new advisors learn and grow their career. In 2022 and 2023, Mike received the immense honor of being named to the annual Forbes list of top ten best-in-state financial security professionals! Outside of his firm, Mike is an often sought out speaker on various financial topics. He enjoys sharing and learning with members of his community, as well as with others in the financial services field, including investment managers, insurance agents, attorneys, and accountants. As part of a national study group, Mike collaborates with a group of highly dedicated advisors across the nation, in order to continue to learn and improve his work for his clients. Mike's greatest love is his family. He and his wife, Kasey, welcomed their daughter Sadie in 2015, and son Henry in 2019. They split their time between their home in Bernardsville, NJ, and their beach paradise in Plymouth, MA. Mike and Kasey are both graduates of Duke University, and they remain active in the Alumni Association, as well as supporting Duke community service and global initiatives. Mike and Kasey are very involved with Sadie and Henry's school, volunteering their time to the community whenever possible. When relaxing, Mike can be found on the golf course, listening to live music, making homemade sushi, or most likely, spending quality time with his family!

Scott Alters

Scott heads up the Advanced Case Planning Department where he provides personal financial guidance for all financial professionals as well as customized financial services for his individual and business clients. Scott started his career with Northeast Financial Network in 1981, and has been recognized over his career many times over for his experience and knowledge. He helps support Mike and Mike's clients with advanced planning strategies and consultations. A graduate of Temple University majoring in finance and economics, Scott is a past president of the Union-Raritan Valley chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Aside from playing and watching golf, enjoying softball, traveling, and rooting for the Giants and the Yankees, Scott values the time he spends with his wife, Amy and his two daughters, Heather and Elyssa. Scott also spends time volunteering for various charitable organizations that are near and dear to his heart.

Thomas Bauman

Tom has been part of the NEFN team since 2002. He's held a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation since 1990, obtained his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation in 2011, and his Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation in 2015 from the American College of Financial Services. Before joining NEFN, he started his career as an accountant at Price Waterhouse in New York City and became a CPA in 1986.
