Jacqui grew up in the tourism industry, the Walshe family now has three generations in travel and tourism, as do so many tourism businesses. The first generation was probably attracted by the glamour and the excitement of discovery, first class cabins and the opening up of new destinations. As second generation, Jacqui has had to deal with the series of highs and lows, global shocks and challenges which regularly beset the industry. While 2020 represents the penultimate challenge for the global industry in modern times, she feels confident that the Walshe Group, along with many other well managed airline and tourism businesses, will ultimately emerge strongly. Tourism will recover but with a more sustainable, balanced contribution to community, culture and personal fulfillment. People will still need and want to keep moving and connecting across the globe. As travel and tourism goes through the hardest of times in our lifetime, and our trade distribution partners and airline and destination clients all battle for their corporate survival, Jacqui remains committed to the challenge. She has always enjoyed being involved in industry affairs, to keep educating herself and maintaining an entrepreneurial mindset. These current times are an opportunity to really test those skills, to overcome adversity, but to also use the reset as a means of reviewing what the companies and consumers of aviation and travel need to succeed in the years ahead. Jacqui holds a Bachelors degree in Business and an MBA, she is a qualified Company Director and currently the Deputy Chairman of Australian Tourism Export Council. In 2017 she became Chairman of The Walshe Group and its parent company Southern Travel Holdings. In 2020 Jacqui was appointed as a member of the Tourism Restart Taskforce set up by the Australian tourism sector, and is the tourism representative on the Ministerial Advisory Council to Senator the Hon. Javad Azizi

Javad joined The Walshe Group in 2009. He is a self-motivated and energetic individual with a passion for working in competitive environments. He has obtained experience and skills in challenging commercial roles within the airline industry covering sales, marketing, e-commerce and pricing initiatives in B2B and B2C environments. Throughout his career Javad has worked with a number of well-known airline brands, such as KLM, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Swiss Air/SWISS, British Airways, BMI, Sri Lankan Airlines and South African Airways. He has a highly developed business acumen and is focused on exploiting present and new opportunities within his portfolio. Javad has been leading the strategic growth of Oman Air's offline profile since its start-up in Australia in April 2012. His contribution lead to Oman Air being recognised by the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) as ‘Finalist for Best International Airline Off-line' for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019. In his leisure time he likes reading and following news and technology developments. He enjoys long bay walks, cycling, soccer and is an eager swimmer.

Jennifer Gaskin

Jennifer is a creative, strategic and analytical marketing communications specialist with over ten years' experience in the travel and tourism industry. Jennifer started her career in journalism, but now specialises in destination, digital and content marketing and brand strategy. Jennifer's first role within The Walshe Group was Country Manager for the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (Australia). Jennifer has led many of the team's most innovative and highly regarded campaigns. Using her extensive industry experience and a creative approach, she led the team to win Tourism Board of the Year at the 2019 Women in Travel awards. Alongside her extensive trade experience Jennifer has a strong consumer marketing skillset having previously worked on consumer facing campaigns in her past roles. Recently, Jennifer has spent time honing her consumer marketing skills by taking courses in SEO, digital marketing and web design. Her creativity combined with her strong analytical and project management skills make her ideally placed to manage end-to-end campaigns. Jennifer lives and breathes destination marketing and has a particular interest in responsible tourism and ensuring tourism has a positive impact on local communities. Jennifer is also the Founder and Managing Director of Unmapped Travel; a joint venture with The Walshe Group, Unmapped is a small group lux-adventure company aimed specifically at people in their 30s and 40s.

In more recent years, Sonia has developed her expertise in destination management, working with Visit Flanders (Belgium), as well as providing strategic guidance on other tourism accounts and projects including Okinawa and Dubai World Expo 2020. She is also responsible for new business development and recruitment at The Walshe Group. Sonia's skills lie in marketing strategy, writing content, developing stakeholder partnerships and events. She has a Master of Business Administration from Southern Cross University, NSW. She is an avid reader with a predilection for history, and a penchant for Belgian chocolate and French champagne - best devoured together!
