Andrew Dunbrack

Andrew Dunbrack has 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, including the completion of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments for due diligence purposes and in support of Record of Site Condition filings and Risk Assessments. He has completed various due diligence assessments across Canada for both public and private sectors. His responsibilities include project management, inspections, regulatory and public liaison, historical record review, coordinating field work activities including sampling, data analysis, remediation planning and report preparation. As Manager of our Environmental team in Kitchener, Andrew Dunbrack is responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Beau Rivard

With over 20 years of design experience, Beau Rivard is a skilled Structural Engineer in both hot-rolled and cold-formed steel, as well as reinforced concrete design for large recreational, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. He has a strong knowledge of design requirements and a proven record of bringing creative and innovative solutions to complex challenges. His prior experience in the construction industry provides additional insight to the real constructability of every design. He is also responsible for ensuring the highest technical standards for MTE's Building Structures Division and is a mentor for junior and intermediate structural engineering staff.

Bill Veitch

Over the past 35 years, Bill has gained experience in the field of civil engineering and gained practical knowledge of the Planning Act through secondary plan servicing and background studies, development charges background studies, and numerous land development projects. Bill's background also includes the management and design of municipal engineering projects including Class Environmental Assessments and site servicing projects.

Brett Thorner

Brett Thorner has over 13 years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering. He is knowledgeable in foundation designs and installation of shallow and deep foundations, trenchless undercrossings, slope monitoring / remediation, and sewer and roadway reconstruction. He has experience with project cost estimating, managing construction projects, and managing field staff on various types of construction projects. As Manager of MTE's Geotechnical team in London, Brett is also responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Carol Mitchell

Carol has been involved in the fields of safety and environmental engineering in Ontario and Quebec since 1985. Her areas of specialization include managing multi-site Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) according to CSA standards for due diligence purposes, and Phase One and Two ESAs according to O. Reg. 153/04 (as amended); Records of Site Condition (RSCs), soil and groundwater remediation, property decommissioning, road reconstruction and management of excess subsurface materials. In her role as a Senior Environmental Engineer with MTE, Carol assists in the design and implementation of all technical aspects of environmental site assessment and acts as the final technical reviewer (Qualified Person ESA under O. Reg. 153/04) for many of MTE's environmental assessment and remediation projects.

Dan Finelli

Dan has over 25 years of experience as a structural engineer in project management and design of commercial, industrial and multiresidential buildings, with an expertise in the design of cold-formed steel structures. In his current role, Dan is responsible for estimating, planning, design, resource allocation, budget control, project management, and tracking and construction review. As Manager of MTE's Building Structures team, Dan is responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Dan Gonser

Dan Gonser performs geotechnical exploration, analysis, and engineering for a wide variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects. His project work includes analysis of data for foundation design (deep and shallow bearing capacities); utility installation; earthworks construction; pavement design for flexible and rigid structures; and slope stability, including visual slope inspection and computer-aided stability analysis. Dan has a broad range of experience managing projects for geotechnical investigations including devising work plans, proposal preparation, project coordination, and engineering calculations and analysis for preparation of geotechnical investigation reports. As Manager of MTE's Geotechnical team in Stratford, Dan Gonser is also responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Dave Hallman

Dave provides knowledge, guidance and oversight to the design team on their projects. He has 30 years of civil engineering experience, managing projects that have included all aspects of design and construction. His direct work experience for contractors, consultants and municipalities affords him a unique, well-rounded engineering perspective that enhances his design and project management decisions. With a varied background in the design and construction of roads, bridges, watermains and sewers, he draws on this knowledge to provide constructible, innovative designs that meet the needs of the client. During his career he has managed the provision of design and construction services for over 100 transportation related projects involving the construction or reconstruction of roads and bridges and associated infrastructure and utility work. In addition he has been involved with over 30 Class Environmental Assessment (EA) projects.

Dave Wilhelm

Dave Wilhelm has over 30 years of experience, specifically in the project management and design of a wide variety of municipal, environmental and land development projects. He has managed and designed municipal wastewater pumping stations, water booster pumping stations and municipal water supply wells. For private clients, Dave has designed onsite wastewater treatment systems and drinking water treatment systems. He also has experience in the project management and design of multiple residential subdivisions and site plans, including detailed design of site grading, watermains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, roads and stormwater management analysis. Dave has further experience in the areas of landfill design and construction.

David Hayman

Dave Hayman has over two decades of experience conducting environmental assessments that characterize the environmental condition of properties utilized for various residential, commercial and industrial purposes. His expertise integrates land use change with terrestrial, wetland and aquatic environments based on thorough and effective monitoring, assessment, restoration and design for public and private sector proponents. He has coordinated approvals in compliance with provincial and federal natural heritage policies/acts, in particular the Ontario Planning Act, Federal Fisheries Act, Ontario Aggregate Resources Act, Ontario Water Resources Act and Environmental Assessment Act, to implement projects across southwestern Ontario.

Douglas Reaume

Douglas Reaume has over 20 years of experience in the fields of surveying, civil engineering and construction. In his current role he is responsible for the management, development of survey strategies and implementation of survey techniques to complete a variety of surveying projects. These include detailed topographic surveys, construction layout of roads, sewers, bridges, buildings, rail lines and other structures. Along with his strong survey skills he has many years of experience in civil design, inspection and contract administration.

Fraser Cummings

Fraser Cummings has seven years of field experience in sampling techniques including groundwater, surface water, soil and sediment sampling as well as knowledge of site characterization and hydrogeological modelling. Fraser is also familiar with provincial guidelines and regulations, in particular the Ontario Water Resources Act and Environmental Protection Act. As Manager of our Hydrogeology team in Kitchener, Fraser is also responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Garett Korber - VP

He is directly involved in planning, analysis, and design for a variety of water resources, municipal engineering and land development projects, with a focus in water resources engineering. Jamie Dick

Jamie Dick has 13 years of experience within the civil engineering field, for land and site development, and municipal infrastructure projects. He works closely with team members and provides direction to ensure that reliable and consistent information is collected and applied to the project. As Manager of MTE's Civil Engineering team, Jamie is responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Jason Cabral

Jason Cabral's responsibilities include project management, site grading design, stormwater management (SWM) design, site servicing design and septic system design on various projects in Waterloo Region. He has 20 years of experience in civil engineering design, project management, construction and inspection including, storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, SWM, grading, roadways, site plans, subdivisions, septic systems, lot certification surveys, site grading certification surveys, layout and as-recorded quantities, and inspection on Ministry of Transportation projects. His site inspection experience consists of roadway and subdivision road grades, underground services, septic systems and curb and lot checks. He is also qualified to survey, inspect, document and calculate any pertinent information required. As Manager of MTE's Land Development team in Kitchener, Jason Cabral is also responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Jeff Martens - VP

Jeff is responsible for the review of all civil engineering on all projects, including final submission and liaisons for approvals to the various municipal and government agencies. He directs an in-house staff of engineers, technologists and CADD operators in the design of many varied projects. His 30 years of experience has included a myriad of complex engineering assignments including land development, municipal infrastructure, structural and private site development projects. He has vast experience with complex water resource engineering projects and is well respected by the area municipalities and conservation authorities for his innovative and effective approaches to complex projects.

Jeffery Reid

Jeffrey Reid has over 17 years of experience in the consulting engineering field. As Senior Engineer Jeffery's role on projects includes attending coordination meetings, conducting day-to-day operations and supporting the design group's efforts with respect to investigating alternate solutions to the challenges that will arise during the development of the final design. He also interfaces with technical support staff in the creation of the design and contract documents, and he performs 3D structural analysis and design for multi-storey concrete, steel and engineered wood framing.

Joel Nichols

Joel Nichols has over 15 years of experience related to environmental toxicology and risk assessment. He has acted as Senior Reviewer, Project Manager and / or Technical Lead for the completion of Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments under both provincial and federal frameworks including O. Reg. 153/04, as amended, Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment and Health Canada. He also provides expert level review of human health and ecological components of Pre-Submission Forms and Risk Assessments prepared under O. Reg. 153/04. Joel also conducts Benthic Invertebrate Surveys and Sediment Toxicity Assessments. Joel Nichols has previous work experience in both Canada and the U.S. studying the toxicological effects of contaminants (e.g. metals and pesticides) on various aquatic organisms to contribute to the development of the Biotic Ligand Model, regulatory practices, and Probabilistic Risk Assessments. This work involved benthic invertebrate sampling and identification, conducting sediment and aquatic toxicity tests, and culturing various aquatic test organisms (benthic invertebrates, fish, and algae).

Kurt Ruhland - VP

Kurt has over 30 years of experience with structural engineering and building design, taking pride in providing practical and proven structural solutions to complex design challenges. He has managed, performed and consulted on the structural design for over a thousand structures, in each, showing commitment to delivering successful projects. This includes a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings constructed of structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, masonry and wood. Being licensed 15 states and provinces, he has provided consulting services across Canada and the United States. Through his involvement with technical committees and speaking at various events, he contributes to the advancement of the structural engineering field. He is actively involved with the Canadian Precast Prestressed Concrete Institute (CPCI) and CSA. Above all, he understands it takes an effective team to do great work, and supports and participates in collaboration, team work and achieving common goals across design and construction teams.

Kyle McIntosh

Melissa Cameron

This work involves the implementation of natural heritage policies under the Planning Act / Provincial Policy Statement, the Renewable Energy Act, the Aggregate Resources Act, the Places to Grow Act / Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and municipal policy documents. She is very knowledgeable with many Species at Risk and their potential interaction with proposed projects as it relates to the Endangered Species Act and the Species at Risk Act. As Manager of MTE's Ecology team, Melissa Cameron is also responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of the group.

Mike Cotton
