As an embryo develops, a wide variety of cell types form along the length of the body. This diversity is dependent on position: some cell types form exclusively in the head, while others form in the trunk. Our ambition is to understand how this organisation is established and maintained during development. Combining experimental and dry lab approaches, we are investigating how cells develop into different lineages, and how this is encoded in the structure and function of the genome.
