Neil J H MacLeod

Neil J H MacLeod was born in Dar-es-Salam in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) in 1953. On independence in 1962 his parents returned to live on the Isle of Skye in his father's family home. After spending his formative years on Skye, he left in 1972 to attend Glasgow School of Art where he studied ceramics from 1972 to 1976. In 1974, while at Art college, he set up a business publishing souvenir prints from his own pen and ink wash drawings. Over the years the range expanded to over three hundred images, which were supplied as mounted, hand coloured prints. As technology improved he moved into colour reproduction. Realising his limitations in terms of producing new and varied work, he decided to expand the range by publishing work by other artists, while at the same time, keeping to a standard format. adding variety gave customers a wider choice of content and style. He can justifiably claim to be one of the first and leading companies to produce souvenir, collectable colour prints of Britain. The ultimate goal is to have a comprehensive range in excess of 3000 images depicting and documenting historical landmarks and scenes throughout the British Isles. The ever expanding range is available to view through our website where a wide selection of original paintings, drawings and limited editions are also available to purchase. All images are printed using light-fast inks on acid-free paper or board and are mounted to fit standard frame sizes. The company also publishes a range of collectable playing card titles.
