WESTERN BATHS CLUB - Key Persons
Alex joined the Baths recently having moved from London to Glasgow.
His background is mainly in Investment Banking and Education and until recently he was Chief Executive of a Professional Body and University. He has also had a lot of experience as a Non-Executive Director in Education and Healthcare.
He hopes to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Baths through prudent financial management and careful stewardship of the Club's assets.
Allan has been Operations Supervisor at the Baths since 2021.
Joining the Baths as a junior member before moving on to becoming a member of the staff, his time at the Baths has spanned some 35 years in total. Within this time, he has had many roles ranging from Duty manger to his current position of Operations Supervisor.
Allan assists the General Manager, oversees staff training and development, and runs the Baths' successful swimming programme.
Allan is proactive in taking the Baths forward, while maintaining its steep history.
In 2018 her role was expanded to Finance Manager although it does still incorporate membership administration and payroll. althaea.trevor@thewesternbaths.co.uk
Andrew has been a full member for over fifty years and has seen the club in all its ups and downs during this period.
Calum joined the Committee at the 2025 AGM.
He has been a member of the Baths since 1993 and likes to attend the gym and classes regularly. He swims several times a week and enjoys the occasional refreshment at the bar to end the day.
Calum is retired after an almost 40 year career in marketing and public relations, 32 of which were in financial services, mainly in the field of investment.

David has been Bar Manager at the Deepend Bar & Bistro since joining the Baths in 2010.

Debbie began her role at the Baths in February 2020.
Previously, she spent ten years within the voluntary sector as Office Manager, working for an organisation supporting individuals living with BBV's.
You will always receive a warm and friendly welcome at Reception from Debbie and her team when dealing with your enquiries.
Gary joined the Committee at the 2025 AGM.
He has been a practicing solicitor for over 40 years and owns and runs a business with 25 employees and has done solely for a period of 15 years.
Gary has been a member of the Baths for over 25 years and visits almost on a daily basis. He is keen to see the Baths thrive and feels that his business experience is relevant.
Hilary joined the committee at the 2023 AGM.
As a member of the Baths for more than thirty five years, Hilary has made many friends along the way. She has been practicing Iyengar Yoga there for twenty three of those years and is keen to promote our yoga classes and the high standard of teaching available.
Hilary enjoys using the Main Suite facilities, particularly the steam room and plunge pool, on a regular basis. She occasionally dips a toe in the pool.
As a member of the committee, Hilary is keen to see the Baths continue to thrive, while retaining the original ethos of the Club. She is often heard to say: "I don't know what I'd do without the Western Baths Club."
James began his employment at the Baths in 2015 as a Leisure Attendant. After a promotion in 2020, he took up his current role as Duty Manager.
During his time as a leisure attendant he introduced the successful gym retention program ‘On Route' and conducted the majority of our fitness classes.
James continues to drive our fitness classes, gym and overall club standards and operations through his current role.
Jennifer began working for the Baths in 2014 as a Lifeguard. Following a promotion in 2021 she took up her current role of Duty Manager.
With a long career in the leisure industry, Jennifer began as a part time Fitness Instructor within the Kelvin Hall. Her career then moved to being a Lifeguard, Senior Leisure Assistant and Duty Manager for East Dunbartonshire Council.
Joining as a junior in 1971, Jennifer remains a life long member of the Baths
Kathleen was appointed General Manager in February 2023 after a period of 10 months of Acting General Manager..
Kathleen joined the Baths in 2015 in the role of Duty Manager.. She was promoted to Depute General Manager in 2018.
Her career in the leisure industry began in 1996 as a Lifeguard. Kathleen then moved on to Swimming Teaching and Coaching. Her employment history includes Swimming Development Officer for South Lanarkshire Council and Head Swimming Co-ordinator for a private Swim School
Her current role involves staff management and overseeing all operations within the Baths.

Michael has been in his current role as Facilities Manager since the summer of 2023. Before this he was Duty Manager for five years but has been employed by the Baths for the past seven years.
He joined the Baths as a Leisure Attendant in 2015 and was promoted to Duty Manager in late 2017. Michael is also a Personal Trainer and a qualified instructor for many of the fitness classes at the Baths.
Paul has been a member of the baths for many years and he always appreciated what a wonderful institution it is .
As a member of the Committee he hopes to encourage and work to develop the baths existing commitment to the Arts, including music and dance .
Being a Lawyer by profession Paul has expertise in Employment Law and HR which he hopes can be put to good use going forward.
As the organisation moves into different times he will particularly enjoy working with office bearers ,senior management and committee colleagues to build a strong business plan in order to meet both the organisation's aspirations and challenges.

Richard was appointed Chair of the Western Baths at the 2022 AGM having re-joined the Committee in 2021 following a spell on the Committee a number of years previous.
Richard has been a member of the Club for almost 40 years joining in 1983. He has worked in Construction for 39 years predominantly in restoration and conservation and will provide valuable knowledge, experience and assistance to the Committee in the care, maintenance and development of the Western Baths building.
William joined the Committee at the 2025 AGM and has been a member of the Baths along with his family since 2011.
Professionally, he is a sports governance and management specialist and has worked hand-in-hand with Scotland's sports governing bodies, voluntary agencies, educational institutes and fostered meaningful relationships with the UK's devolved administrations. Williams cores strengths include strategy development, stakeholder engagement, leadership, project delivery and organisational change.
William is passionate about health, the arts and education. With a proven track record of programme and project delivery, he will contribute fully to the successful provision of a wide range of programme activity for members and support the WBC Management Committee and Staff Team to realise project deliverables on time and on budget.
He will bring a fresh and objective energy together with a hard earned skill set to help deliver the best possible member experience.
