Adam Bradley

Job Titles:

Adam has over 15 years' experience in transport planning and engineering, including transport modelling and capacity assessments. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering gained from Leeds Beckett University. Adam is a Principal Engineer in the Transport Planning team providing access advice to clients and producing Transport Assessments in support of planning applications for various types of development. Adam leads the Travel Planning and Travel Plan Coordination workstream and manages the preparation, monitoring and implementation of Travel Plans for a range of developments including employment, residential, mixed use, school and leisure schemes across the UK. As part of his role Adam is responsible for VISSIM microsimulation projects and manages the production of VISSIM models, delivers VISSIM training sessions to other team members and work with the wider team to deliver suitable assessments in support of planning applications and studies for various clients. In addition to the above, Adam is part of the Road Safety Audit team undertaking Stage 1, 2 and 3 Audits UK wide. Adam has completed the 10 days RoSPA Road Safety Engineering Course and will be seeking to obtain his Certificate of Competency in the future.

Barry Roberts

Job Titles:

Barry has recently joined the company as an Associate in the design team. Barry has worked in the private and public sector for civil engineering consultancies for over 30 years, in both highway design and transportation roles. His experience predominantly includes S278 / S38 detailed design, feasibility studies, transport modelling/reporting, contract procurement, site supervision, project management and business development. Having worked on projects from pre-planning, though the planning and design stages and ending with site support Barry provides a broad range of skills to the company. Outside of work Barry enjoys running, managing a U17 girls football team and spending time in the gym.

Craig Taylor

Job Titles:

Craig joined the Practice in 2006 and specialises in highway design, previously having over four years' experience working within the civil engineering highway design industry. Craig graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2014 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering, through part time study. He works in the design team which undertakes preliminary and detailed highway design from the planning stage through detailed design to construction and site supervision. Craig is experienced in using AutoCAD software along with other packages such as WinDes, PDS, KeySIGN, KeyPOST and Autotrack. Away from the office Craig enjoys travel, good food, good beer and great music.

Daniel McLean

Job Titles:

Daniel graduated from the University of the West of England with a degree in BA (Hons) Geography in 2018. Daniel joined Bryan G Hall as a Graduate Transport Planner in September 2019. Daniel is now a Transport Consultant having been promoted in April 2022. Daniel prepares Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Site Access Appraisals and bespoke reports. This involves using technical software such as Junctions 9, VISSIM, AutoCad, TRACC and TRICS to produce technical work with feeds into the production of the reports. The reports are then used to advise clients and the local Highway Authority on whether a proposed development is acceptable with regard to current national and local policy. When undertaking his work Daniel liaises with highways and planning officers, clients, planning consultants and other specialists. Daniel is a Sunderland fan and used to have a season ticket, he now attends matches as much as he can.

David Bell

David is a chartered Engineer and has over 22 years' post-graduate experience specialising in highway, traffic and transportation matters in conjunction with all types of development proposals. He currently leads and manages a Transportation/Highways team advising clients on transport issues and solutions and delivering projects through the planning process.

Geoff Bowman

Geoff is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience of highways and traffic matters. His strengths lie in development planning work and resolving highways issues to obtain planning permissions for his clients. Geoff is a keen Middlesbrough supporter and in his spare time enjoys running and listening to live music.

Gillian Maxwell

Job Titles:
  • Senior Business Administrator
Gillian joined the Practice in 2004. She now holds position of Senior Business Administrator with over eighteen years' experience in administrative duties and accounting functions. She became AAT Level 2 qualified in the Summer of 2019. Gillian's interests include socialising, rugby league, keeping fit and spending time with her family.

Ian Ellis

Ian has recently re-joined the company after initially working for the practice between 2001 and 2013. Ian is an Associate and works in the Design Team undertaking preliminary and detailed highway design using the latest AutoCad, Windes and PDS software. Ian will also work in conjunction with the Transport Planning teams within the office to provide design support. Ian has over 20 years' experience and will further strengthen the existing Design Team capability and will particularly broaden the experience with Section 38 and 104 designs. Away from the office, Ian is a keen badminton player and plays in various leagues around the district.

James Ireland

James graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Human Geography Ba (Hons) in 2012. After leaving university he worked for Watson Batty Architects as a trainee technician and joined Bryan G Hall in 2018. James works in one of Bryan G Hall's detailed design teams, assisting Senior Engineers with design drawing updates as well as other sectors when required. James is from Bingley, West Yorkshire and has outside interests in live music, golf, football, film/cinema and travelling.

James Pointon

James has gained over 22 years' experience. Formally employed by WSP, he has now worked at Bryan G Hall for over 20 years. James joined the Practice as a junior technician, and gained his academic qualifications through part-time study. Although specialising in highway engineering this approach enabled him to gain technical, practical and theoretical experience in all aspects of civil engineering. James gained professional qualification in November 2012. James heads up the detailed design section of the practice, undertaking preliminary and detailed highway road and sewer design using the latest AutoCAD, Windes, CAD Civils and PDS software. He also works in conjunction with the Transport Planning teams to provide design support. Interests include socialising, gym and supporting Wakefield Trinity. Come on the Trin!!

Lewis Demetriou

Lewis graduated from the University of Reading with a BSc (Hons) degree in Human Geography. After completing his degree, he decided to leave his London roots behind and join Bryan G Hall on an apprenticeship scheme that will provide him with the opportunity to study towards gaining his CIHT qualifications. Lewis assists the team with the production of travel plans, transport statements and transport assessments. In his spare time Lewis enjoys playing golf, live music and going to watch Tottenham Hotspur.

Martin Crabtree

Martin joined Bryan G Hall in 2012 and specialises in highway, traffic modelling and transportation matters in conjunction with a range of development proposals. Martin has over 20 years' experience having previously worked for AECOM. He has undertaken a large number of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Access Studies and Travel Plans for all types of development. This has included providing transport support for new residential, mixed-use, retail, leisure, hotel, employment and education developments. Martin is highly experienced in using modelling software including Junctions, TRANSYT, LINSIG and VISSIM. Martin also has site supervision experience having overseen a number of Design and Build contracts. During his career he has worked in various development control roles including secondments to Local Authorities and the Highways Agency Framework. Martin has overseas work experience having been involved in a Project Management and Technical Advisor role overseeing a major housing and infrastructure schemes in a Libya. Interests away from the office include Rugby Union and going on holiday with his three children.

Martin Thompson

Martin joined the Practice in 2016 and specialises in highway design, previously having over twenty years' experience working within the civil engineering highway design industry in the private sector and over 2 years' experience working in the public sector with City of York Council. Martin is in the design team which undertakes schemes from initial planning through to detailed design for both Section 38 and Section 278 highway schemes. He also has experience in the site supervision role. Martin is experienced in using the latest AutoCAD software along with other utilities such as KeySIGN, KeyPOST, Autotrack and MX. Martin is currently working on a range of Section 38 and Section 278 highway projects throughout the UK for commercial and housing schemes. Away from the office Martin main interests are cricket, where he is a qualified Level II ECB cricket umpire, supports Leeds Rhinos and enjoys travelling.

Matthew Mould

Matthew graduated from the University of Salford with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering in 2014. After leaving University, he worked for Exigo Project Solutions and joined Bryan G Hall in September 2015 as a Graduate Engineer. Matthew is now an Engineer and works on a variety of design projects, providing support to Senior Engineers in relation to Section 278 design drawings. He also undertakes visual condition and dilapidation surveys, detailed setting out drawings, advanced direction sign scheme drawings and supports the planning team with swept path analysis. Outside of the office, Matthew enjoys travelling, F1, and watching movies/TV shows.

Nathan Bridge

Nathan has recently joined the company and was formally employed by Leeds City Council and Sanderson Associates. Nathan is a Principal Engineer and works in the Design Team undertaking preliminary and detailed highway road and sewer design using the latest AutoCad, Windes and PDS software. Nathan will also work in conjunction with the Transport Planning teams within the office to provide design support. Nathan has gained over 12 years' experience and gained his Civil Engineering BSc Degree through part-time study. Although specialising in highway engineering this approach enabled him to gain technical, practical and theoretical experience in all aspects of civil engineering. Nathan gained professional qualification in June 2012. Interests include socialising and supporting Wakefield Trinity.

Nick Calder

Nick graduated from the University of Nottingham with a MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering in 2013. He joined Bryan G Hall in June 2014 as a Graduate Engineer and supports the team through a range of transport planning and design tasks. Outside of the office, Nick enjoys socialising and keeping fit through playing football, tennis and cycling.

Phoebe Pitcher

Phoebe has recently graduated from the University of Leeds with an MSc in Transport Planning. She has joined Bryan G Hall as a Graduate Transport Consultant in September 2023. Phoebe currently assists on various technical and travel planning tasks including the production of travel plans, transport statements and transport assessments. Phoebe is a Liverpool FC supporter and in her spare time enjoys going to the gym, and spending time with friends and family.

Robbie Donaldson

Robbie joined Bryan G Hall in January 2013, after graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering in 2011. He now has more than 9 years experience in transport planning and engineering with Bryan G Hall and is a member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. Robbie works on a variety of transport planning and design projects and is experienced in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Access and Site Appraisals and providing feasibility advice on a wide variety of schemes, including residential, employment, retail and mixed use. As part of this work, he undertakes operational junction assessments, site access appraisals and layout reviews, site sustainability assessments and site reconnaissance work. He also prepares Designer's Responses to Road Safety Audits undertaken on schemes he has designed, and he is experienced in post-planning detailed design work and the use of AutoCAD, including the preparation of drawings for Section 278 agreements for schemes within the adopted highway. He has been involved in a large number of successful planning applications throughout his time at Bryan G Hall and he understands the importance issue of sustainability. This includes sustainable access to sites by all modes of travel and he is proficient in the use of the accessibility software package ‘TRACC'. Outside of work, Robbie's interests include Formula 1, football, skiing, music and playing guitar.

Sharon Bayliss

Sharon joined Bryan G Hall in 2018 as Senior Business Administrator. With a background in accounts and administration she brings a variety of skills to the existing administration team. In her spare time Sharon likes socialising, keep-fit, geo-caching and baking cakes (which she often brings into the office for tasting).

Stuart Wilkins

Stuart specialises in the transport aspects of land-use planning and has advised a wide cross-section of clients across a broad spectrum of development types. He has a clear understanding of client needs and enjoys working closely with clients to map out project requirements. He has an excellent understanding of the principles of traffic management and engineering gained through the early part of his career when he worked in the transport and engineering division of a local highway authority. Stuart has managed a large number of development planning jobs during his 35 years' experience. He has wide-ranging transport experience including highway design, traffic engineering and management, transport and land-use planning and road safety. He has undertaken a large number of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Access Studies and Travel Plans for all types of development. Throughout his professional career on behalf of industrial, commercial and residential developers, land owners, public bodies, community groups and private individuals Stuart has been involved in highways and traffic related matters connected with development projects and highway improvement schemes, and has, as a consequence of a number of these schemes, been involved in the preparation and presentation of evidence at planning inquiries on numerous occasions. Stuart completed the Great North Run in 2014, but after an initial flirtation with the idea of running a full marathon in 2015, has now resigned himself to running the odd 5k during the summer months.
