METIER TECHNOLOGIES - Key Persons
James has over 35 years experience in business at Board and senior levels in companies trading both in the UK and internationally. Educated at Eton College, he spent a short time in the army, leaving as a Captain. He was a founder of Metier Technologies in 1984 and had held a number of roles within the company over the years, both executive and non-executive. In 2012 James re-joined Metier Technologies as Chairman to help find a buyer and led the sale of the company to Rheinmetall.
James co-founded Metier Ventures and led the purchase of Metier Technologies back from Rheinmetall in November 2022 with the aim of re-focusing the significant technical expertise in the company on green technologies, initially focusing on opportunities related to hydrogen internal combustion engines.
Mark has over 20 years of powertrain design and development experience. He started his career at Metier Technologies whilst studying Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University. After graduation a full time position was assumed as a design and development engineer for 4 years. This was followed by a brief spell with Zeroshift developing their novel transmission. Mark subsequently spent over 5 years working at Ilmor Engineering and was part of the team that designed and developed the Chevrolet V6 2.2l Indycar engine. In 2013 Mark re-joined Metier Technologies as a Project Leader. This transitioned to Chief Engineer in 2021. In December 2022 Mark took up the position as Technical Director following the sale of the company to Metier Ventures.
